Joe Worsley's Testimonial Season Supporters Curry
By KevinTheB
March 19 2009
To help celebrate Joe Worsley's Testimonial Season, the DWs have been asked to host a Supporters Curry Night on Tuesday 7th April 2009, doors open 6pm, at the Clay Oven Banqueting Suite in Alperton. Some of Joe's testimonial functions are targetted at commercial sponsors, but this evening is very much aimed at Joe thanking the ordinary "person in the stands" for supporting him over the years.

Joe, and a number of other players and coaches from Wasps, will be joining up to 350 supporters at London's biggest Indian banquet venue, and mingling in traditional rugby club style until the doors close around midnight. The informality of the evening has been tried and tested by the same organisers over the past 4 seasons with other players, and a great evening is certain.

We will be providing a responsible quantity of beer (bottled and draught) and pear cider in your ticket price, which also includes soft drinks all night.

At 7.30pm, a three-course authentic Indian Banquet meal will start being served to tables. The full menu is detailed below.

There is a charitable aspect to this too - Joe is supporting the Lymphoma Association, The Burned Children's Club and The Professional Rugby Players Association (PRA) Benevolent Fund as his charities, and these will benefit from the evening.  There will be a number of raffles for very exciting prizes, and a Question and Answer session with Joe hosted by Master of Ceremonies for the evening, Dave Larham, the London Wasps Community Development Officer. People who have seen Dave's "act" on match days will look forward to this interlude.

Tickets are on sale now - these cost £45 per person and this covers all food, soft drinks and (as mentioned above, a responsible amount of) beer and pear cider. Simply send an email to dw.orders@yahoo.co.uk stating how many seats you will be wanting, and we'll do the rest.

Please note: nobody has ever gone home from one of these events hungry.

The full menu is:

I am no longer working tues night, so I am now free to attend the curry night - however, I have no-one to go with sad smiley

I know a few of you from the wasps walks, so if anyone who knows me thinks they are likely to have a spare seat on their table, can you let me know? That is, if there are places still available!

Thanks smiling smiley

Although it is always subject to last minute change, at the moment we are "expecting" the following to come along with Joe to the curry:

Richie Birkett
Dave Walder
Dan Leo
Rob Webber
Mossy Lawlor
George Skivington
John Hart

plus at least Leon from the coaches.

Still a few more tickets to go ... anyone else ???

Stacey, you may recognise quite a few faces. For instance you sat next to me during the HCup quarter final v Leinster.

In which case I apologise unreservedly for my language that may have been, erm 'coloured' at times. And my random arm waving.

Am all sorted anyway - decided to just go for it. As you've all said, waspies are a pretty friendly lot!
