The weekend for the away game in Calvisano has been announced, so we can start making tentative steps. It is still quite a way off, but securing hotel and flights sooner rather than later may make things cheaper and less hassled. Question marks over the actual kick off time remain, so we will have to give ourselves some flexibility. We will get as much info and guidance from the clubs as is possible before actually committing money. However, remembering that Ryan flights get more expensive the longer you leave it and interest grows, you might wish to take the risk and book early. Remember, ......

The disclaimer. THERE IS THE CHANCE that by mutual agreement of the two clubs involved, or more probably at the insistence of the television company involved, a game may be rescheduled to a time when we are in the air either to or from the country involved. THIS IS YOUR OWN RISK. We clearly attempt to get guidance from the Club that this is not the case when booking flights, but we cannot be held responsible if it happens. YOU ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED TO TAKE OUT YOUR OWN INSURANCE COVER FOR THIS TRIP - DRUNKEN WASPS TOURS DO NOT PROVIDE THIS COVER.

Right. The basic plan is fly out Friday lunchtime to Milan Orio Al Serio Airport. Ryanair call it Milan Bergamo on their website, which might be a little confusing. Thankfully they do use the international reference BGY to remove the confusion. Although there are flights to Brescia, as this would involve getting to Stanstead for a 7:30am flight, and not arriving back until midnight Sunday, DWs might not appreciate it. So instead, we leave Stanstead for Milan. Deb may be sorting something out for those of you who perfer to fly from West London – more whenever.

Flight Fares vary like the weather on these economy flights. Budget £150
WaspairOne Ryanair. London Stanstead (STN) to Bergamo (BGY).
Outward: Dep STN Friday 12:05 arr BGY 15:05
Return: Dep BGY Sunday 15:45 arr STN 16:50

WaspExpress Coach from the airport to the hotel in Calvisano. Cost to be confirmed, budget £20 return for this.

The intended hotel is the Hotel Master, selected on the advice of our Italian agents. It is very central in Brescia, important for that cultural evening activity. All rooms ensuite. It's a 3* hotel. This should guarantee quite a good level of comfort. If you want to book your own, that's fine.

Your choice of accommodation Budget
Single, with bath/shower and WC. Breakfast included. €70 p.pers p.night
Double, with bath/shower & WC. Brekkie inc. (Depending on availability, you may get a twin room) €50 p.pers p.night
Twin, with bath/shower & WC. Brekkie inc. €50 p.pers p.night

Again, budget a little spare, just in case.

Once again, this Italian leg of our tour will have a trip to a vinyard, followed by a meal at a restaurant, overlooking one of the lakes to the north of Brescia. It will be a three-course meal, with wine included. The inclusive cost for the coach picking us up, taking us on the trip, taking us to the game after the meal, and then taking us back to Brescia after the game (as Calvisano is a small town in the middle of nowhere) should be in the region of €70 per person. NOTE: Drunken Wasps MAY be able to cadge a seat back on this coach after the game IF IT IS NOT FULLY SUBSCRIBED – otherwise, only those taking the tour will be able to be accommodated.

So a single person should allow €170 plus beer plus flight.

Please email me as soon as possible to let me know if you are interested and what you will be needing in the way of flights and beds. I'll then be able to keep everyone informed.

IMPORTANT: I'll need your proper name (i.e. not "Badger-Wasp" or "MegaStinga" or whatever), when booking flights they want names up front. Also include your home address.

Ta muchly
