THE BIBLECODE SUNDAYS

"The Pogues had opened a door and nobody was stepping through and carrying on"..........................BIBLECODE SUNDAYS

The successes and failures of the Irish race provide the inspiration for the music of the dynamic Biblecode Sundays. The band are made up of Ronan MacManus (brother of Declan a.k.a. Elvis Costello), Andy Nolan (ex Shane MacGowan & the Popes), Carlton Hunt (ex Bad Manners), Enda Mulloy (son of Tom of the legendary Mulloy Brothers), Joe Moran (ex All-Ireland champion) and one of the best young fiddle players in London, Patrick Franklin.
Following the success of their debut album, "Ghosts of Our Past", which saw them voted 'Best Band on London Circuit 2006' by the readers of The Irish World newspaper, the boys have already played Glastonbury, toured the U.S., and recorded a blistering follow up record, "Boots Or No Boots" in 2007.
Carrying the torch with pride for Irish music and culture, they have also been invited to compete in the national online record label competition, "BAND REPUBLIC" (www.bandrepublic.com) alongside the cream of the U.K.'s indie talent, which will hopefully see them chosen to release a single into the U.K. top 40- making history as an unsigned Irish music act.

DUBLIN CITY WORKINGMAN'S BAND

"Dublin City Workingman's Band...the real deal".......... HOT PRESS MAGAZINE, 2004

“Dublin City Workingman's Band” first got together in January 2003 when Ger (vocals/guitar), Ciarán (vocals/bodhrán) and Bob (vocals/guitar) met to sing a few ballads and have a few pints on a Monday night in the City of Dublin Workingmen's Club on Wellington Quay. They were soon joined by J. Tingey on banjo and that summer started a Saturday night residency in the Chancery Inn. Their live show developed and their reputation grew. The Irish Times Ticket magazine dubbed them "the Dubliners for the noughties". They have played in Slovakia, the Hofberg Palace in Vienna, the Hammersmith Irish Centre, the London St. Patrick's festival at South Bank, the Mayors Ball in Dublin and London and the Festival of World Cultures, Dún Laoghaire.
Last summer they teamed up with Producer Geoffrey Perrin and “Kíla” frontman Ronán O' Snodaigh to record "The Frost is All Over". The eleven track CD is a collection of the band's own traditional arrangements, with one track from the pen of Shane McGowan and one from Pete St. John. It has been available since March 2006.

DAVID DUFFY & BAND

David Duffy is without doubt one of the most talented musicians Ireland has ever produced. Having joined his Dad’s band at the age of eight and recorded his first solo album at the age of twelve, he gained a reputation as a gifted multi-instrumentalist (he plays 10 instruments) and was invited to perform and record with names such as Tom T Hall, The Jordanaires (Elvis backing group), Harold Bradley, Steve Miller, the Magic Numbers, Robbie Williams, Willie Mason, Guy Chambers, Elvis Perkins, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, etc.

Most recently he was invited to perform in Jamaica at the Opening Ceremony of the Cricket World Cup to a worldwide tv audience of millions and to headline the opening night of the legendary “One Love Festival” in Kingston. David and his brother are also members of the supergroup “World Party”, since meeting widely respected musician/songwriter and ex-Waterboy Karl Wallinger.

Daivid’s reputation has grown so much that the ‘saviour of country music’ and multi-grammy award winner Ricky Skaggs has invited him to Nashville later in the year to record his debut album. The Big Shindig 2007 is the last chance to catch David before he hits the big time!
