The problem with Twickenham in general, and the London Double-Header in particular is that core support tends to get spread-out and a bit of the usual matchday atmosphere is lost. In a bid to counter this we attempt to try and get as large a group of London Irish supporters sat together. This has other benefits too; non-season ticket holders can get cheaper tickets (they access the ST holders' 20% discount) and you're more likely to get a seat away from groups of people who will turn up or leave half way through the game while you're trying to watch.
It has fallen to me to collect people's forms and cheques in and batch them together. I've been in contact with the club and got a little more detail about our allocation.
The RFU, bless them, have renumbered the blocks at Twickenham so here's a map:
We are allocated, initially, L3, L7 (this block will also be used for seasonal hospitality seating), L19, L21, L27, L28, L30, L33 M29 and M32. The word is that initial applications will fill the most central blocks - these are in the East stand (not the West as originally stated by the club).
I've simplified the ticketing but effectively:-
The order of the blocks is my assumption of the order they'll be allocated.
| Price | Blocks |
|---|---|
| £20 | L33 |
| £30 | L28, L21, L3, L19, L30, M29 |
| £40 | L27, L7, M32 |
Don't worry, if the club sell all these they'll be allocated more.
Season Ticket Holders have already been sent their forms (both in electronic and paper-form), they need to fill them in as instructed on the form and then send them with the cheque (payable to London Irish) to me at the address below. Don't forget to fill-in the address and daytime phone number and, most importantly, your customer number.
Non season-ticket holders can join in the fun by sending a note to the same address with the following details:
Add a cheque to cover the amount - remember to take off the 20% (£30 tickets are £24, £20 tickets are £16).
It would be very useful, if you want the tickets posting to you, for you to include a Stamped Addressed Envelope.
Send forms and cheques to:
According to the club the drummers will be situated in M29, if you are a drummer can you mark "DRUMMER" on your form (I know all the drummers, please don't mark it unless you are one so we get the seating plan right). If you'd like to sit with the drummers please mark your forms "Sit WITH drums". Some people really don't want to sit with the drums, these people should mark their forms/notes "Sit AWAY from drums". I cannot guarantee that if you do this you won't get a seat in M29 but I will make every effort to do so.
I will batch these together, add all the non-ST holders onto my form and send it into Sunbury. Once we've got the allocation I'll split the tickets up and send them out. With a bit of luck we'll have a huge group or a couple of huge groups of green-clad supporters singing and shouting their support.
I think we should probably get a move-on with this so I'm putting a cut-off date of Thursday 10th July 2008 on it by which I need to have your form. Get posting!

Griff, thanks for that.
Will you be at the Three Guineas over the weekend? I heard rumours of a Fairies get-together for a drink or two...
If yes, could we collect 'em in person and save you the postage and us the worry?
Cheers
