Quinssa Meet the Academy Evening: Thurs 19th March
By Quinssa
March 16 2009
This evening will provide an interesting insight into the inner workings of the Academy, which has produced many first team players who are the backbone of the current Quins squad and represent England at all levels.
Tony Diprose will host the evening with a presentation on how the academy works, what it does, who the staff are, what they do, how recruitment works, etc. Tony will be joined by four other academy staff who will explain their roles, from coaching through administration to strength and conditioning and physiotherapy.

There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and we will finish the evening with some video footage of the players in action.

In the Members' Clubhouse from 19:00, this is a great opportunity to learn more about the future players of our historic club.

Entry is free to Quinssa members and £3 to non-members. There will be a bar service.

It should be a good insight into the next batch of players to enter the main squad

Yep, a great presentation. Dippy really does come across as very enthusiastic about his and his colleagues' academy work.

Dippy did his usual "talking himself down" but he is a consumate professional. If he weren't so busy preparing our next set of 1st team boys, he'd be on Sky a lot more, I'm sure.

The video he showed at the beginning of the evening had me in tears. We've come a long way in the last few years.

The academy management team is now bigger than I'd realised too.

I was surprised there weren't more people there and wonder why that was. Perhaps the 7 o'clock kick off made it difficult for some?
