Awards at the Quinssa 6 Nations Dinner
By Rugby Bird
February 16 2010
Last Tuesday evening Mark Evans, John Kingston, Collin Osborne and Tony Diprose, together with 19 of the Squad and representatives from Etihad Airways and Greene King rubbed shoulders with over 120 Supporters at the annual Quinssa 6 Nations Dinner at the Stoop with Mad Max as the Master of Ceremonies.
Before dinner was served Bob Hiller provided the Grace, which he had written himself especially for the event, and after everyone had chatted with their Player Hosts and eaten their way through a lovely 3 course dinner – interspersed with some table magic courtesy of Mad Max – it was time for the Quinssa Supporters’ Awards.

There were 4 Awards which had been voted for by Quinssa members:

Best Forward
Nominations with the most votes:
Ceri Jones, Chris Robshaw & Nick Easter
Winner: Nick Easter

Best Back
Nominations with the most votes:
Danny Care, Nick Evans and Ugo Monye
Winner: Ugo Monye

Unsung Hero
Nominations with the most votes:
Ceri Jones, Collin Osborne, George Lowe and Tom Guest
Winner: Ceri Jones (the most sung about unsung hero, winning for the 3rd year running!)

Quinssa Favourite Player
Nominations with the most votes:
Chris Robshaw, Danny Care, Tani Fuga and Will Skinner
Winner: Will Skinner

In addition, a Special Recognition Award was presented to the hugely popular Jim Evans.

Many thanks to Dan Wooller/wooller.com for generously providing images for the awards.

During the evening Quinssa presented a cheque for the Academy to Tony Diprose in the sum of £2500 and, thanks to the continued generosity of Etihad Airways and Greene King who provided some superb prizes for the raffle as did the Club by donating a signed shirt and items of Quins’ merchandise, an additional £935 was raised for the Academy.

The evening was rounded off in great style by the ever-popular live band RISER (www.riser-live.co.uk)

Quinssa would like to thank everyone who made Tuesday evening possible. You can keep up to date with all things Quinssa, including our upcoming Meet the Management evening with Mark Evans and Conor O’Shea (free to Quinssa members) at www.quinssa.org.uk

Huge thanks should go to Emma who pretty much organised the evening single handed too.

It certainly was a fun night and I can't wait for the next one

Just echoing Prof's sentiments - well done, Emma!

What happened to the dodgy barney award and the other one which was something like best player to have almost scored a try? I liked those ones!!
