With a new season upon us, NLB are back with their weekly(ish) podcast talking all things Quins.
In this preview of the forthcoming season, we discuss the new additions and how the squad will fare over the year, we talk about the pre-season friendly results and what they might indicate for the new season and we analyse the first game of the season against London Irish.
Great pod, keep it up guys. Hope you haven't put the mockers on us by stating that Chiefs are a good team without great players... I think they have some serious talent coming up. Been very impressed with Ewers and Steenson this season, not to mention their centres. Add Mr Nowell in there and if we don't get parity up front they'll likely be getting some good ball.
By the way, the last Friday night league game vs Tigers was...
The last time we played, at home towards the end of last season. I believe we also played them at WR on a Friday during the 2011 WC? So admittedly that was some time ago.
Also, I think it's easy to get carried away writing off seasons for teams performing badly at this stage of the season. You only need to look at Tigers over the past 3 seasons to see how teams can recover - outside the top 3 consistency is going to be a big issue with everyone beating everyone else - I would be surprised if Quins and Tigers don't finish 4&5.
All good points - I suppose the hyperbole helps at this time of year - i think we know 3 of the play off teams and a lot of teams are looking at the fourth spot - for quins to get there they need to beat the the others around them that includes Leicester, Exeter, Wasps - well we lost to Exe and beat Wasps, so beating Leicester would make it better - Plus we have those nasty Frenchies to play soon, so we need to find some form!
Great pod guys, but do you really think Wallace has been knocking it out of the park? He can play so much better than he has this season and for me he is underperforming from last years standards.
Good 'cast as always, guys. Just a little request. Can you boost the volume a tad, especially on Gavin's bit before the 'Quins chants at the start? I have to ramp the volume up before listening, and when I go on to another of the podcasts I listen to regularly, I then get my ears blasted off!
