MTM1: Dean Richards on the Team for Coventry
By Prof
July 28 2006
The first thing that Dean Richards said at the Quinssa Meet The Management Evening was a run through of the current injuries and what the team is expecting up at Coventry.

The team sheet has already come out but unfortunately earlier today Ugo Monye pulled out, he’s got a bad back, so unfortunately we won’t be with Ugo this weekend. He on the concerning injury list at the moment which includes Tommy Williams, James Hayter, Will Greenwood is also injured and seems likely to be out for another two or three weeks, Henry Barratt who’ll be out for six months, and a few others who are feeling a bit groggy and unwell, there’s been a bit of a bug passing around the camp as well – and it’s not a hangover I can assure you!

So we’re going to change Ugo and bring in Charlie Amesbury, I can see that he’s already got a bit of a fan base here, it must be something to do with the blond hair, a bit like Neil Back!

To be honest it couldn’t come at a worse time, I do think that Coventry will pose us a huge test this weekend, it will be very difficult going up there. They have a very strong side, but they haven’t performed well so far. They’ve got a very good back row – I would imagine Daniel Farani their Samoan number eight will be back and he’ll be playing 8 and their captain [Hendry Rheeders] will move across to 6. They’ve got a strong scrummage, their hooker is a player called Richard Protherough who I think everybody will know has been around the rugby circuit for a long time.

It is going to be a very hard game, every game we’ve played away from home everybody’s been looking for our scalp and it’s not going to be easy in any way, shape, or form.

But we’ll still be going to win obviously, you never know what’s going to happen after that. Ultimately we go out to play every week and go for the five points but away from home is never easy and four points some times, like up at Otley, is just enough and we are happy to come away with that.

So that’s the team news for this weekend…
