The festival has proved to be immensely popular in the past and the hall is often declared to be full on Friday nights.
The festival has now become one of the most keenly awaited events on the local calendar and is run entirely by volunteers from amongst the area‚s 500 strong membership. It is expected that over 2000 beer enthusiasts will visit the festival over the three days, in order to sample the 50 or so real ales on offer together with a selection of real ciders and perries. Roughly half the beers available will be brewed in nearby counties by small, specialist breweries but there will also be old favourites and award winning brews from around the county.
The festival is open to everyone over eighteen years old. Small family groups can be accommodated on Friday and Saturday lunchtimes but not during the evening sessions. The local branch of CAMRA now has its own web site at
www.camra.org.uk/richmond which holds details of the festival and other branch activities.
