SMURF
Revenge on the team that broke
our unbeaten home run last season, and within a whisker of a bonus point
which would have put us top of the table!

Morning all,
10.57am and I've already reviewed and Photoshopped all yesterday's match
efforts - new workflow seems to be doing well
.
Yesterday was a busy day so busy I roped DrT into shooting the Under11's
in the morning. I knew that OU Photography course he did a couple of
years ago would come in handy! I enjoyed shooting the LandRover Cup
again - it's the third time I've done it and it seems to get more
popular each time. 19 teams from all over East Anglia!! Congratulations
to Sian and her team who do a fabulous job. Congratulations too to
Wymondham who won and Diss who gave them an excellent match.
The main event was hard fought - we have sad news about Roger Wilson
this morning - I thought he and Dowson were brilliant yesterday. They
were everywhere and their pace for big men is astonishing. Our front row
gave the Falcons a lesson - I'd been relishing Hayman vs Tonga'uiha and
it was a mighty battle which Soane won. Brian Mujati is now stamping
his authority on games - Brett Sharman wrote in the programme that there
is a big difference between rugby in SA and here and that is most
reflected in the forwards. I think Air Brian has taken some time to
adjust - Golding certainly knows he's arrived
. Both DrT and I thought Messrs Long and
Morris did the business when they came on - both were very fired up and
charging all over the place.
I was delighted for Flash - he scored two lovely tries in such lovely
boots. Finally, a word for our two centres - Downey and Clarke are both
little gems - Downey was imperious in midfield yesterday and both he and
Clarkie are dragging defences all over the show, creating gaps. I
sometimes wonder if I should shoot photos of the space to prove the
point!
It's the first match I've been able to shoot with the 80-400mm for the
entire 80 minutes and boy does it make a difference!
Anyway these are my favourites...
Congratulations to Darren Morris for making his debut and making a
photographer's life easy... here you go barfly...

Next match for me is Quins - see you next week!
