The only bit I have the slightest scooby about is the fact that Scotland currently has a monarch as the King/Queen of England and Scotland have been the same thing since James I/James IV and QEII is the current Monarch of the United Kingdom. They won't be having a last king, despite that African Despots claims because it's a line of succession currently in possession of the Saxe Coburg Windsor's

None of the above

- although St M has thought of a connection that I never thought of or intended. It works for A and B but not for C.

Circular Tour.
This is indeed very weird and very tricky. Only two questions (Grumpy rockstar and Infra-Draw) strike a chord so I must admit to also using Google. Even then I haven't got very far (or possibly anywhere!) Something here may help someone else though.

1 Drayton (which seems to be a recurring theme)
2 Rick Wakeman (Grumpy Old Rockstar Books and went to Drayton Manor County Grammar School apparently)
3 No idea
4 No idea
5 It was the Nissan Micra (But no idea how it links)
6 Clive of India was born in Market Drayton (but I don't know about his nuptials)
7 Battle of Bloor Heath (at Market Drayton)
8 The infra draw method purported to accurately predict pools results and was famously promoted on Radio Luxembourg by Horace Batchelor, making Keynsham (K-E-Y-N-S-H-A-M) famous.
9 Rawlinson was MP for Frome (Keynsham was probably in the constituency)
10 No idea
11 No idea
12 No idea

Ian
You have made a good start

1 Drayton (which seems to be a recurring theme)
No

2 Rick Wakeman (Grumpy Old Rockstar Books and went to Drayton Manor County Grammar School apparently)
The Rockstar is indeed the Grumpy old Rick Wakeman - his education was at a different Drayton, look for his earlier domestic residence

3 No idea

4 No idea

5 It was the Nissan Micra (But no idea how it links)
Correct

6 Clive of India was born in Market Drayton (but I don't know about his nuptials)
Market Drayton is correct and the link between 6&7

7 Battle of Bloor Heath (at Market Drayton)

8 The infra draw method purported to accurately predict pools results and was famously promoted on Radio Luxembourg by Horace Batchelor, making Keynsham (K-E-Y-N-S-H-A-M) famous.
Correct but where's the link?

9 Rawlinson was MP for Frome (Keynsham was probably in the constituency)
Wrong Wrawlinson!

10 No idea
11 No idea
12 No idea

Clues - Market Drayton is in Shropshire - nowhere near Banbury!
The link between the village and 2 is annual

Right, not a lot of ideas, but the circular tour..

1, Cropready, home to an annual folk festival, organised by Fairport Convention.

2. Rick Wakeman appeared there in the late 70s?

8&9 The infra draw method, as stated above about Horace Batchelor was based in KEYNSHAM, this was an album by the Bonso Dog band, a member of that band was (the legendary, and barking mad genius) Viv Stanshall, who released an album entiteled 'Sir Henry at Rawlinson End in 1978, I still have my copy!

1, Cropready, home to an annual folk festival, organised by Fairport Convention.
Correct

2. Rick Wakeman appeared there in the late 70s?
I'll give you that - and is scheduled this year!

I knew someone else would still have that record! Correct and that is the link between 8 & 9

Ok I'm going to get technical (and maybe this might be the answer:

There has never been a "King (or Queen) of Scotland" becuase the scottish view of the Monarch is that they are the monarch of the people not the land. So each scotish monarch is "King (or Queen) of the Scots" (the people), whereas in England the King or Queen is of England (The Land) I remember my history lecturer at college rabbiting on about that one day when I was trying to sleep. Another thing...Scotland doesn't have a Queen Elizabeth 2nd...we have only have 1 queen elizabeth (unless you count the queen mother)

Jim Winning Sir - Kerrect - the answer is " in the title " which is King or Queen of Scots,

other such titles include the King of the Belgians - and M.Bonaparte who very deliberatley took the title - Emperor of the French to distinguish himself from all the other monarchs

some may remember that at the opening of the Scottish parliament Lord David Steel welcomed Elizabeth II with as he put it the constitutionally correct title " Queen of Scots "

in 1952/53 when the queen came to the throne - there were protests in Scotland because the post boxes etc had ER2 on them.

Nissan manufacture in Chennai, India - I don't know whether that area is relevant to the Baron.

There was a Battle of Cropredy in the English Civil War - the other one, as Rob suggests, is the War of the Roses.
