Saints 35 Irish 23

This is a very simple recipe, and unusually best to prepareoutdoors. First of all, gather you and 13,500 of your closest friends around one evening. Lightly soak yourself in beer until merry. Next prepare the ingredients. First the potatoes: As soon as you start making the dish, allow the potatoes to apply pressure on the other ingredients. After roughly 45 seconds and again at 4minutes allow the potatoes to gain the advantage. This is before you start to gently mash them up front.

Mashing up Front

Gently Mashing

Five minutes into the cooking, allow the pie to catch up slightly. After this, at around 12 minutes, start to dazzle your 13,500 friends with the skills you have learnt under Masterchefs Jim and Dorian. Thisis the point when you are to put a lot of pressure on the potatoes and start to vigorously mash the potatoes. Once thepotatoes are bordering on pulverised, make sure move on to the pie but do notstart adding the cherries yet. In fact,at this point try not to drop the on the floor. 21 minutes into the cooking is when the first cherry should be added. It should be placed neatly in the corner after consulting your recipe video. Extras will be added shortly afterwards.

Shortly after, fold the mash so light and fluffy then turn to pie and add another cherry. This time in the other corner (no need for the video this time). Add the extras afterwards again. After mashing the potatoes again, take advantage of the situation by adding another cherry on the pie. Once again, add extras.

This brings us up to half way through the cooking. Time for a breather and discuss with any of your 13,500 friends that this recipe is slightly easier than you anticipated.

Return to the cooking by putting more pressure on the potatoes. After a few minutes, replace some of the mash with new potatoes and immediately make sure they are as mashed as the others. All this mashing and pressure may seem like it is going somewhere... but it won't.

About 55 minutes through the cooking, it is finally time to add the final cherry on the cake. Make sure it is the biggest cherry you can find as it is going to taste really, really good. This time there is no need for extras, as the cherry is big enough to enjoy.

With the recipe all but over, it may be time to swap some of your more frequently used utensils and give them a well earned rest for another recipe next week. Some utensils may be a bit over used, so they should be off first. It should be mentioned at this point, a utensil that has helped you get the desired result may end up broken. Or so it seems as it is necessary to replace it just as a precaution, don't worry it will be able to be used again in 2 to 3 weeks time.

Although the mash has been well and truly finished, give ita chance by heating it up in the last 10 minutes, only the sausages and pie to come back and completely finish the recipe off at the end. So, the desired result should be easier to accomplish than you think. Be sure you accompany this with large amounts of Beer and Ale and enjoy for at least sevendays afterwards.

(It this is not the recipe for you, then why not just headto the Weedon Road chippie. S'good.)

Have to say... One of the best match reports so far the season. But then am I biased? Nice one FHS!

Here - in the close season, we should have a recap of the best reports and previews, and vote on report of the season!
