Bring on the Warriors!
The Warriors make the trip to South Wales on Sunday 21st February - one week before the Scorpions get their inaugural league campaign underway at home to Workington Town.
The fixture comes one day after Wigan's Super League derby with Warrington - but Scorpion officials are still hopeful that the club will bring a strong-looking side to Neath.
Players who do not feature against the Wolves and members of Wigan's under-20 squad are expected to form the backbone of Wigan's match-day XIII.
Chairman Phil Davies heralded the news as a "fantastic coup for the club".
He added that the game represents a "the perfect trial match ... before we go into a tough Championship One campaign".
Those wishing to attend the game will be able to purchase tickets at £8 for adults and £4 for concessions. Under-11s, as with all home fixtures this season, will be admitted into the ground free with a paying adult.
Wigan's last visit to South Wales came last April when John Dixon's Celtic Crusaders pulled off a stunning victory at the Brewery Field. 5,252 were in attendance as the Saders won a thrilling encounter 22-16.
The club's chief executive Mick Hogan revealed this week that he is confident that the Warriors will sell in excess of 9,000 season tickets before the Lancashire club do battle with the Saders this weekend.
