Rochdale win at Spotland
Plenty of points were scored as the Championship One campaign got underway on Sunday.
The division's other four fixtures kicked-off after the South Wales Scorpions' narrow win over Workington, with Hunslet, Rochdale, Oldham and York all claiming comfortable victories.
The bookmakers fancied Doncaster to challenge for the title this season - but the Yorkshire club were given a severe beating at Rochdale.
The Hornets clocked up a 56-24 win at Spotland and ran over an amazing 11 tries in the process.
At the Huntington Stadium, York kicked-off their promotion challenge with an easy win over the unfancied London Skolars.
The Knights will be desperate to make up for last year's play-off disappointment and got their season off to the ideal start against a team many expect to be picking up the wooden spoon this season.
Elsewhere, 627 were in attendance at Sedgley Park as Oldham claimed a fine win over Swinton. The Roughyeds will soon line up against Welsh Conference club Blackwood in the Challenge Cup - and they already look like providing a stern test to everyone in Championship One this season.
Meanwhile, Gateshead Thunder, beset by off-field financial woe and an appalling run of results in the Northern Rail Cup, were put through more misery at Hunslet. The Hawks claimed an easy win against the former Super League club.
The Blackpool Panthers were the only Championship One club out of action this weekend.
