February 24 2014

Just a reminder that Luke Pearce will be guest of WRSC on Tuesday 25th February at 7:30 pm in the latest of WRSC's Meet the Ref Night Series.

One of the younger up and coming refs, Luke will be giving us the low down on his career so far and what the future holds.

The full report of the evening will be posted here on Wednesday night.

Looking forward to seeing you all there in the Sixways Upper!

Superb night - very informative and entertaining.

I liked his honesty and willingness to accept the he makes mistakes.

I was impressed with his thoughts on any team losing out because of a mistake by a referee. Yes he makes mistakes and as a team the Referees are working hard to sort those out and showed us the proof of this happening. However why should one particular mistake by a referee be considered as the only issue in a team losing, when each member of the losing team must also have made mistakes during a match that could have meant that the team were not in that situation.

This is probably an over simplification as to what he said and it was certainly not meant to try to justify his or other Referees mistakes but it made sense to me.

Thanks to the committee for organising this event.

I agree, Ian - Luke Pearce was extremely entertaining and very honest. He is also a very pleasant person.

Another really excellent evening. Well done committee, yet again!

Deja vu? I've seen it all before

I am really gutted I could not make this as I really rate Luke Pearce. He is one of the younger refs to come through that gives me hope for future, I would of loved to have met him. It sounds like he is a pretty down to earth person as well. Oh well there is always next time.
