Yorkshire Carnegie entertains a Newport Gwent Dragons side at Pontefract on Sunday. Bryan Redpath has wrought the changes to the squad to both give regular players a rest and to afford game time to lads who have been missing out during the league campaign.
In the backs only McColl and Forsyth retain their shirts this week. Redpath has surprised a lot of us by bringing back Warren Seals from his loan spell at Darlington to start in the 10 shirt after Joe Ford's form has slipped in recent weeks. He is partnered by the effervescent Max Green and these two could have a major influence on the outcome of the game. I would like to think that Seals will get a run in the team now and establish himself as a serious contender to Ford.
Outside the halves we see the return of Taylor Prell and Ollie Goss to join Stevie McColl in the back three. Both players will relish the game time and will, I am sure, make the most of the opportunity. Max Wright comes in at 12 presumably due to injuries to Casson and Gray.
Our injuries in the forwards mean that Beech and Cusack both start with Ross Graham keeping the hooker's shirt. Whetton and Sanderson both keep their places but Andy Saull takes the 6 jersey to give Dicky Beck a break. Chris Walker returns at 7 with normal service resuming at the back of the scrum.
Loanee Gary Robertson subs for the frontrow along with Lweis Boyce and Mike Mayhew. The rest of the bench is made up of academy lads: Borrowdale, Wilson, Fox and Dunne who will have been well schooled by our new academy boss - Jon Pendlebury. Here's hoping that they all get on the field at some point.
With so many changes it is impossible to predict a score so I am going for a home win 24-10.
