Worth watching.
A very honest and inspiring interview with Steve Lansdown during these difficult times.
He has my total respect.

if anyone has listened to this does he explain why our players had a pay cut quickly imposed on them where as I think I am right in saying the footballers are still getting their full wages .

The Premiership Rugby clubs agreed their players should take a 25% pay cut across the league to safeguard it. Unsurprisingly Exeter ignored the agreement.

No such agreement has taken place in football,

Was it imposed or agreed?

Football has got itself into a bit a of a mess. Many clubs placing non-playing staff on furlough and expecting the tax-payer (that's you and me) to pick up the bill whilst, at the same time, keeping highly paid players (£3M average for Premier League players) on full pay. Not a good look. If they can afford to keep one lot of employees on full pay then it doesn't seem right to expect the rest of us to pick up the tab for all the others. Additionally, the PFA seems to have been fairly confrontational and unhelpful.

On the other hand surely the financial pressures on most football clubs are similar to rugby and it does look particularly odd when one part of Bristol Sport gets its much smaller wage bill cut whilst the other part continues to pay a much higher player wage bill. Dare I say that football once again seems to have a higher priority than rugby?
