Excellent news for both him and us - is he really only 25?

Good news. We certainly need him with all the injuries.

"Without Siale Piutau (knee), Piers OConor (knee), Charles Piutau (knee), Will Hurrell (head), Luke Daniels (shoulder) and Charlie Powell (ankle), Pat Lam bolsters his midfield options with the addition of the 25-year-old until the end of the season."

I thought wed have been interested in him when Glaws let him go - I know hes had his injury worries but he is a good player who would fit our style of play. Could be another astute bit of business by Pat just like Hamilton and Holmes when we picked them up - another quality, young-ish player hungry to prove himself again at the highest level. And for a snip of the price hed have perhaps commanded 2-3 years ago.
Be good to see how he settles but hopeful of another gem!

I thought Purdy was a New zealander.

Nope, but he went over to New Zealand over the summer to play Mitre 10 (old NPC) with Otago (I think!) so there is a link!

Decent bit of business that. He'll certainly have a point to prove.

Couldn't have written a better script for his potential home Premiership debut against... Gloucester.

Very pleased with him joining, put in some good performances for Gloucester. Also reading between the lines, glad to see Leiua not mentioned on this list.

Also re-reading between the lines, hope Hurrell is getting better - some not very nice stuff on Facebook about his head issues.

P.S.What do you mean by "not very nice stuff", people being out of order or the injury itself?

Hurrell suffered a bleed and bruising to his brain

Re: Henry Purdy
Rinkadink 14 January, 2020 13:33
Surely we should be citing that plus May's assault on Charles? Leicester got away with so much, off topic though.

Get well soon Will.

Signed on a short term deal.
Released, according to Cov's website. I take that to mean a permanent transfer.

Re: Henry Purdy

How long was his contract at Cov?

From now until end of season is short term compared to most.

Seems good business, is that all our specialist centres injured bar bedlow now?

I believe it was just until the end of the season...

Unconvinced. Like Purdy but never been convinced by him. Will be very happy to be wrong though!

I still think we're missing a trick not at least trying to use Madigan in the centres. Surely the Prem Shield or Zebre game offers such an opportunity, plus it gives you another specialist kicking option on the field.
