Appears to be a possibility.

Quote:
Ashton Gate could be one of the first sports stadiums in the country to welcome supporters back, with Bristol Bears' home a frontrunner to be part of an ambitious Premiership Rugby pilot scheme.
Bristol Live understands the ground could host a limited number of fans as early as the August 25 match against Exeter Chiefs, with the Bears working closely with rugby authorities, subject to government approval.

It's straightforward. Allow season ticket holders only. Wear masks. Plenty of room for social distancing at two metres and most of the time spent outside. Safer than going to the pub (which appears to be the main government priority).

Quite agree but following the news this lunchtime I think it's highly unlikely to happen.

It's not that straightforward, even if we would like it to be. You will need one way systems in and out of the stands due to the narrow vomitories, strict queuing systems at the entrances and concessions (and toilets). At the moment shouting (like singing) is considered to be a danger, even beyond 2m.

I agree that it's safer than going to the pub, though, and I hope that they find a way to persuade me before I go that it will be safe - not just for me but for others in my family and people I work with who are more vulnerable than I am.

It seems to me that outdoors is a different kettle of fish from indoors.

Remember the 'crammed' beaches in many places in May. There has been no spike at all caused by any of those yet there has been in Manchester and other places reportedly caused by congregating indoors.

surely in a big modern stadium like Ashton Gate the crowd could be managed properly.

We shall see.

Well, there was a tiny spike after the Bournemouth debacle. But that was in Bournemouth itself. Most of the people there weren't, strangely enough, from Bournemouth so we have no idea exactly what happened once those people caught the virus and then went home.

Frankly 8k people wearing masks in AG are pretty much certain to be far safer than it was going shopping without wearing masks or any of the other activities the government says or said were fine. I guarantee that it's safer than driving to Durham with someone who actually has C-19 and then going for a drive on your wife's birthday to a scenic spot to test your eyesight. And the government was adamant that was fine.

“ Mr Johnson said planned reopenings for 1 August would be delayed for at least a fortnight.
That means venues such as casinos, bowling alleys, and skating rinks must remain closed until 15 August. ” from the BBC item. Spectators will be wearing masks so still a possibility.

C'mon you Bristol Boys!

After todays announcement from Boris I can't see this happening however, he has changed his mind before, hasn't he !
To my mind what this throws up unless I've missed the announcements, is the lack of information or details about whats happening at Bristol Rugby & the future especially towards STH's. I appreciate that whilst the club are being governed & dictated to by other third parties but the lack of talk/consultation from the club is disappointing to say the least. The season resumes (hopefully) in one way shape or form 2 weeks today & yet we've heard nothing really from the club in terms of how we can be kept informed or involved. Bristol City must have been sorted, yes a different situation but I wouldn't mind betting that a few other Prem Rugby Clubs have resolved their STH concerns/issues, so why can't Bristol because as a STH I've heard nothing !

I'd rather be at in outdoor stadium with all wearing masks than in a cinema!

Be great if we get to be part of the early trial

Bristol have been@#$%&with their communication! Are we getting refunds like the football or a Bristol bears Tv subscription like the football? Ask questions and you get sweet FA

It may be they are waiting for confirmation on how many (if any) can attend matches the rest of this season - but that said they could at least say that (which I assume they've not)

Communication hasn't been brilliant.

I have some sympathy because they probably don't know what they can and can't do in a rapidly changing situation.

Other clubs have already resolved their ST issues I don't really know why we haven't.

The only difference I can see is that we have a better stadium than just about anyone else. Perhaps they are hoping that we can use it where other clubs can't.

It would be nice to have been told something even if it's only - it's in hand, we're weighing up the options, bear with us.

I agree with others that the club have been very poor in getting out information , on the offy lately there seems to be more posts about the womens team than the mens .
I would have hoped at least to have a report and pictures on how training is going at the new facility .
