Good number of Gloucester fans turning up (we've got a row of 16 seats) ....but clash with the cup final will no doubt hit your local support, but still think it'll be your best attended match of the season

Suggest a change for thekeg. You're not going to win with 8888, M5Shark beat you to it in the first post.

To my eye it looked about 6180 or possibly one more hiding somewhere.

Yes we have gone up fractionally. 2017-18 average 6,274

League as a whole average has gone down fractionally from 14, 165

It can't be. If the three individual days are correct it would suggest an overall average (mean) of 6586

Good spot

GP Average should be 6586 (Total 72443)
GP Average Sat should be 6489
Overall Average 5721 (97260)

I think!

M5, maybe you got that working out wrong but you are a good deal more accurate than statbunker, which, on the whole, is a complete waste of space. It still has at least one of the recent years incorrect and this last season says that Sale's total gate was 46,282 with an average of 6,612. Most sports, at least at the top level, have good statistics. Rugby Union stats, overall, are poor in comparison.

So what do we conclude from this years's attendances? As regards GP games Sunday is best and Saturday worst. However, eleven games in total isn't really enough to show anything. Several games have to be discounted: first and last games of the season, games over the Christmas/New Year period, games against Leicester (because they always have a bigger attendance) and then games when the weather has been particularly poor. I think, in the end, all one can say is that there isn't a significant increase, or decrease, on any particular day/kick off time.

I have fully rechecked this but I think there have only been two occasions when, over the weekends that Sale have been at home, that the lowest gate hasn't been at the AJ Bell. (I think it was Newcastle both times, or possibly Worcester on one of those two occasions.) I haven't fully looked at accurate attendances, but Leicester have seemed to have significantly more empty spaces this year than they normally have but, no doubt, still average around the 20,000 mark.

Not quite correct, I reckon....
6591 x 4 = 26364
6489 x 6 = 38394
7145 x 1 = 7145
total attendances for 11 games = 71903
Resulting in the average attendance = 6536.63636......

No significant tangible improvement in actual attendance which often feels a bit less than that, even for the GP.
I presume they always count STH's, attendees or not...

Looks like a typo in those calc's H's Dad... 6489 x 6 = 38934 not 38394. Therefore the averages listed a couple of post up are correct.

It does feel that marketing has been fairly limited this season, maybe a conscious effort to wait until post RWC when we can attract a new audience, and additionally show of our increased spending/star signings too.
The Trafford Metrolink Line is ahead of schedule so may open early winter and that is likely to make selling the public transport option easier.
