Hi all,

Tomorrow (Friday) is the annual Sale Sharks Supporters v Altrincham FC Supporters T20 cricket match to open the Ashley Cricket Club beer & Gin festival. The weather forecast is fantastic and the Sale supporters are defending champions. The match is played for the David Jones Shield in memory of a big Sale and Alty supporter who unfortunately passed away a couple of years ago and his wife Linda will be there to present thr shield to this year's winners.

If you are free tomorrow night please do come down and cheer on our team...if you need any persuasion its a beer and gin festival at a picturesque cricket club on a balmy sunny Friday night!! Its probably the most fun social of the year and all are welcome. Cricket starts around 6pm.
As it stands we may have 11 players but there are always drop-outs so if you fancy a game please let me know on here or bring your kit (we play in blue Sale tops as this is T20) or just turn up and borrow a bat, pads, gloves and helmet from Ashley who always have some spares for us to use. If we don't have 11 players we press-gang so be warned!!

Ashley Cricket Club Ashley Rd, WA14 3QE Ashley, Cheshire

There is parking on site and easy train connections from Manchester/ Sale area as the club is 300 yards from Ashley train station

Trains from Manchester take 35 mins and are at 17.05, 17.41, 18.05, 18.41, 19.41

Same train from Stockport takes 23 mins and are at 17.18, 17.52, 18.18, 18.52, 19.52

Same train leaves Altrincham at 17.36, 18.10, 18.36, 19.10, 20.10 and takes 6 mins

Trains back from Ashley to Altrincham, Stockport, Manchester leave at 20.52, 21.53, 22.52 and 23.45

This really is great fun and you don't need to have any interest in cricket. We keep getting invited back not because of cricket skills but because we normally drinkl all they put in front of us!!
