Welcome Sheffieldsmills, great you came up to the training session on Friday and good luck on this competition. Who knows, with three exact guesses you could have 15 points and walk it!

Carnegie have a new fan today. Taking my little boy for his first game. Looking forward to it.

Hope he enjoyed the game JDH! Although the attendance (1279?) and the first-half performance was a little disappointing the second half was much more enjoyable although I felt that Coventry let us off the hook somewhat with some poor tackling.
Chris Elder is proving that not training full time does not necessarily blunt performance - lovely length of pitch try and also 50 metre+ penalty goal.

Phil Nilson came on for Coventry as replacement, but only last 10 minutes. He was wearing a knee brace and I suspect was not fully fit.

Final score 35 - 10 meaning we get 5 points and are officially clear of relegation as Richmond cannot overtake us.

He enjoyed meeting Terry! He's a bit little to appreciate what was going on yet.

Most of the Leeds schools broke up for a 2 week holiday on Friday.

Well it was an eventful day with missing trains and having to remortgage just to get a pint and a bag of nuts at the beer house in Leeds station......stick to Wetherspoons for your waiting for a connection train pint guys, your wallet will thank you for it.

While it was a scrappy affair 1st half and we probably guilty of maybe trying to force it and keeping ball alive too much, I enjoyed it and was probably the first game in a long long time where even a 3 point lead at half time didnít concern me and always felt we had too much for Cov who had quicker backline speed but were often kept at the gain line through solid defensive sets,

With all hullabaloo surrounding the club through papers social media word of mouth etc, Iíd set my stall out to enjoy my days Rugby with a few beers good chat and thatís what I got, the team are displaying a confidence and pressure free environment on the pitch and 5th place is a genuine target for them now,

Enjoyed Temms analysis on his MOM and how itís the red scrum cap that got him noticed, Elder for me, a good example of someone playing with the pressure off, and if that was potentially his last game it was a good way to sign off

Now if I can get my train times right and forego a ridiculously priced salted snack bring on Donny lots of connections playing and should be a cracker

Well played chaps

There was a lot to enjoy yesterday.
- Tremendous defence, frequently stopping Coventry short of the gain line.

- Accurate box-kicking with a hard chase and tackle.

- Speedy break out from deep.

-Some extraordinary handling.

Another very satisfying result.

Well done everybody!

I don't think Phil was fully match-fit: didn't see him in the warm-up and he was wearing a knee brace. I think it was a sort of cameo for old times' sake when he came on, with the match already lost by Coventry at that stage.

Phil wasn't the only one to feel the force of our tackling, though!

I think your spot on re phil. Deserved fully though.

Lemalu is the man for me. He must be in the top 3 every game for tackles and carries. He's a machine. Fantastic player.

Heard from Phil after game how he has enjoyed his two seasons at Coventry and looking forward with mixed feelings to his impending retirement. Future plans still to be finalised but options currently open.

Good luck to Phil. Solid payer and character, good luck to him on whatever he does next. I presume that will be as a paramedic, though he did mention air ambulance pilot.

From Cov offie website:

"With Cov awaiting the results of a scan recently carried out on Phil Nilsenís knee, experienced hooker Darren Dawidiuk returns from his loan spell at Franklinís Gardens to appear with Gerard Ellis and Donald Brighouse in the front row"

This confirms suspicions, and I think it is credit to Phil that he was determined to play (at least a cameo) at Headingley. Sadly his professional career is probably over but what a great guy - I wish him all the best.
