Just to let you know that Richard Beck has accepted the role of Senior Academy Development Coach at Wasps. It's been an enjoyable time watching him play at Leeds as well as a frustrating one on occasions! He will make one hell of a coach and IMHO his present employers have missed retaining a loyal and dedicated servant to the club. However, the opportunity of working in a Premiership environment was too good to miss. Me and Mrs B wish you all the best for the future - whatever that may bring.
Richard asked me to pass on the following:- " I am very grateful for your support over the last 12 years and was particularly pleased to pick up the Supporters Player of the Year last season - that meant a great deal to me. I am gutted to see the club I played for since joining the Academy in 2007 in such a mess but I wish you all well. Cheers!"

Yep, a great player and fantastic clubman.

I seem to recall people who know about forwardy stuff saying that our line out always looked better when Richard played. I'd agree with that and add that I always thought he was fantastic in open play too.

All the very best.

Good luck Richard. Can't blame you for getting a job with a club that exists rather than hanging around to see if a miracle happens at Kirkstall.

Great player. Had a real x factor ball in hand.

I am finding the whole thing mightily depressing tbh.

A true clubman lost to us. Thank you for all you did at the club as a player and coach. Nothing but good wishes and success for you in the future

I am the last person to claim expertise in forwardly stuff but I do know that Richard Beck snaffled more opposition lineout ball than all the other Carnegie players added together!

Yes. The go too lineout man. I think he will do well at wasps. How many coaches and players have we lost to wasps and bath?

Good luck Richard, I'm sure with your attitude and determination you will be a great success. A terrific player, but just as importantly, a great bloke with a lovely family.

COME ON LEEDS.
We've been through it all together.
