Anyone watching? Just won our first pool game with a very professional performance. Two nice tries for Ali Crossdale

Good to see Crossdale has bulked up a little. Christie strong too, but the confidence of the handling most impressive. Obatoyinbo looking good.

Watching it on and off. I find it difficult to get excited by 7s, in all honesty.

Far from a 7s expert but we look pretty decent. Segun is absolutely rapid.

think we have shown some of the up and coming talent; nice to see

Well done the 7's team. Retained their title and Sarries first bit of silverware for the season. Well done captain Whiteley.

Had to follow it all through twitter which was less exciting than it deserved to be. Really impressive stuff and will be looking forward to many of that team being given a chance at the start of the season in the XVs.

Tom Whitely gets player of the tournament too!

Interesting stat; each time we have won the 7s we have gone on to win the premiership!

Pace, fitness, intelligence, handling, defence all great as was the coaching - were we the only team not to play a sweeper? Tom Whiteley magnificent. Good show of pace and awareness from the young backrowers too, the future looks exciting.

As a matter of interest S do we know which individuals coached them?

Re: Premiership 7s

Adam Powell was lead coach for the 7s

Including conceding two tries in the opening minutes!

Ali Crossdale was amazing - he just accelerates from nothing. The Cup matches over the next four weeks are going to be worth watching with these guys looking to get into the Premiership side after that.

For those interested all pool and knockout stages are now up on YouTube. Just search Premiership Rugby 7s.

One little 'aside' from the 7s commentary was that Tom Whiteley's nickname is Cabbage.

None of the commentators could work out why. Really? Maybe that's the pressure of being on air.

Tks derbyshire fan. He did an excellent job and I read that he is the main man for the PC games too.

Interesting things watching the highlights. They mentioned 11 of the 12 are from the Academy. Great seeing Nigel Wray in the stands, I wonder how many other owners were there? Feels like Sarries have winning in finals figured out, go down a score or two then win!

Great comeback after a disastrous start to the final, two Wasps tries after Sarries errors but overwhelming response thereafter.
Tom Whiteley denied a glorious try by incorrect knock-on call into the bargain.

Yes watched all our games and was most impressed by the fitness levels and the pressing game. These guys will be pushing the first team and the Prem Cup should be well worth following.

bit disappointing that the highlights aren't on the Premiership Rugby site
