Article in the Guardian last Thursday. Can't do link from this device. It was Sixways that he blamed.

Artificial pitches want Dylan Hartley banned. If he had spent a much of his career injured as he had banned, he might soak with more authority

It might carry more weight if he didn't admit to playing on an injured knee in the same article!
I don't know if they're dangerous, but for some venues they're the only option.

Odd, is it not, how many of the best players in the country want to play for a club that has an artificial surface? Perhaps they don't care about their longevity in the game, or perhaps they've actually done their homework and have decided that playing on artificial surfaces is not as risky as a few players raging as their careers decline would like us to believe.

Perhaps we should get salary cap dispensation to pay for all of the injured players we need to continually replace..,

Maybe they should ban Haskell and O'connors eyes for being too squidgy, Ferris' face for being too hard, Bests face for looking like Shrek, to whom he has a phobia, Barnes for not taking a joke, Smiths nose for being too sticky outy, Jamie George for just being better, the back of O'Briens head this time, for not having eyes in it.....
