will largely define our season on the pitch. We have:

Sat 14 - Free, including International players except Maitland, Carre and Tompkins
Fri 20 - Bristol A
Sat 28 - Quins @ NWHL
Sat 4 - Leinster A

Clearly after our punishments our season has a maximum of 3 huge games remaining, with a fourth-second most important one (some way behind) our game at Spurs' wonderful new stadium. Leinster, as usual, will be well rested but for once so might we. They will be playing Scotland France next week then have to make travel and selection decisions away against Cheetahs and Southern Kings.

How do people think we'll balance the conflicting needs of re-integrating our Internationals, keeping players fresh and providing an attractive spectacle to, hopefully, some new fans at Tottenham? Ideally imv the Briz and Quins games would be the other way round and in a normal season I'd expect us to rest the Internationals at Ashton Gate.

We should obviously rest all those carrying knocks. Against Briz perhaps mainly those who have done so well during the 10 International weeks (maybe with a stronger bench) then pick largely the European side v Quins, if possible utilising an early bench. In other words, the same as we would have done in a "normal" season. Clearly this exposes our stars to the risk of injuries against Quins who will be only too keen to help the Irish!

Any thoughts?

For anyone interested in our "pro rata progress" had our penalty remained at 35 points - we've just moved off the bottom (though clearly all sides are under less pressure with relegation sorted):

would certainly expect a full strength side for Quins game.
I think our outgoing sponsors will expect nothing less!

As they are outgoing sponsors, they can go Marler themselves!

But the fans will expect to see something for their money.

The only big game is Leinster. If we win that, there is another big game. And so on.

It's a tricky one. I'd be tempted to treat this as our final as without a win over Leinster the season is over in terms of silverware for the Mens team. Premiership Semi and Final are a week apart and that's how I'd treat the Quins game at Spurs and Leinster game. A Semi and Final. Players rested as needed against Bristol.

I suspect the Leinster game may get called off because of the damn virus , by then cases will be really getting going and restrictions will come in like in Italy today

Hi Sara's man, think i said weeks ago when the punishment was only 35 points that you'd go past us by beating us in March!

I expect you to go fairly week against Bristol and full guns against Quins and Leinster.

Hi Duncan - I do recall you having far greater confidence in our likely finishing position than me - you felt 7-9th most probable (here), I concentrated my hopes on 10/11th, at best 9th. We'll never know as previously we'd have concentrated on the League, now even if Leinster knock us out, I imagine we'll do what is best for us long term and give a little more game time to our wider squad and youngsters (who also have Storm games to win!).

You may be interested to know that your own Tigers and Wuss are marginally ahead of the second highest seasons pro rata points from the last decade for 12th/11th (20 v 18.3 and 22 v 21.3). And as the table above suggests, we previously passed you earlier in the season rising to the dizzying heights of 9th only to fall back again to 12th. Still time for your lot to shine now the England games are over, especially if Ben can repeat his form v Wales. I should have taken your bet that we'd gain at least 8 BP wins in the next 9 games! (I know the situation has changed somewhat).

I can see a new entry in OED soon. A Marler...as in to get Marlered. or get one in the knaggers.

I'd better forward it to the OED and claim immortality!
