Match Streaming?
Faithful_City 04 August, 2020 07:32
Guys, just popped over to see if anyone knows how all the matches are going to be streamed to club supporters.

BT Sport started they would be covering all games but nowhere can I find details on their site, not for ANY game.

Maybe it will be on their BT Sport Extra channels(App) or red button.

Can anyone shed any light?

I've been wondering the same thing! They're leaving it a bit late to announce anything.

they are leaving it a bit late to get new customers signed up - as for the organisiation of the streaming a week beforehand is fine to let customers kmnow how its done

like a lot of firms BT are in lockdown with staff on furlough. They have to prioirtise to money making efforts first

Re: Match Streaming?
nedrichards 04 August, 2020 21:48
Not really, there's a reason they announce the TV that far ahead of time and I'm entirely certain that it's because they're aware that if I didn't have it in the calendar as a guaranteed live experience my wife *will* be scheduling things against it. But also, we know they have TV crews at every game for the highlights, we know this data comes into the production control center because they show in game highlights of other games.

It's basically unacceptable for PRL not to have this explained *at the time of announcing the restarted fixtures*. As soon as you know nobody can attend the games the next most obvious question is, what about the games we don't cover and then, what can I do in order to make it more likely that a season ticket holder will renew their tickets next year. Worcester for example we know have said all season ticket holders will have a way of watching and more power to them!

With football, not missing YOUR teams fixtures meant just that, you had to enter your Season Ticket number, was one of those looks good on the advert, bit caxk in practise jobbies

Re: Match Streaming?
nedrichards 05 August, 2020 11:24
Yeah, I can see that - and I bet badly supported on devices you'd actually want to watch on (like the BT Sport or YouTube Xbox app in my case).

All been announced now, along with the dates and times of every game aside from Worcester away (the tweet seems to have a slightly more helpful table). Overall, as a BT Sport subscriber still it seems fine to me, not sure why they couldn't have confirmed said the obvious a bit beforehand (the Broadcaster who regularly shows every single Europea league game live and already has live feeds and commentry from all the games will just put the stuff on their copious number of spare channels/stream it on the app).

Like many people I cancelled my BT sports subscription via Sky, which I have to say was very convenient.

New contract is basically 29.99 + 6.50 for HD per month.

Unfortunately it seems that standalone access to the BT Sports app (which you can then Chromecast to your TV) for 10 a month is no longer available unless you are a BT broadband customer. I'd like someone to tell me I've read that wrong but this was on the BT site.

If you're a season ticket holder it looks like you'll be able to get one off codes for access to the BT Sport App (which as you say, you can then chromecast) for no extra cost - which may be worthwhile) but as far as I can see here straight up access to the app is 25 a month with BT Sport Monthly Pass.

Yes I think so but reading between the lines isn't the code valid for home matches only?

Correct - its effectively the substitute for being able to use your season ticket

Makes sense - so yes, 25 per 30 days if you have no other entanglements to BT in your life.

I can only comment as an employee, that freebie hasn't changed at all. If you have any BT subscription, internet mobile whatever, give them a ring (or an echat, much easier) they'll probably do a deal, they're very ' cash poor'

I am very entangled with BT, and the price has been steadily climbing.

Any tips on haggling by echat? Presumably, threatening to cancel will see me referred to their specialist hagglers?

It is difficult to argue with echat, yes. BT use it for everything, even my technical interactions, cynically it smoothes the language barrier as they accelerate Bangaloring. Get some other prices, threaten the V-word, moving to Virgin or any other not using my lots network hurts even more. But yes, the second line blokes do the deal, they're quite fond, if you have rung in, of catching you by surprise the next day! After a brief flirtation with Virgin myself, they tried to charge a ridiculous reconnection fee, which I declined. Someone phoned back the next day with a free reconnection offer.

Thanks.

Without having started the process, BT have written, yes a snail mail, reducing my Broadband price! Not by much, but it's a start.

Hi Sarries!

Just a quick note which may help some of you. If you have an EE contract (and applies to Plusnet I believe) then you can get 3 months free BT sport on your phone AND tv which I have recently taken advantage of. I pay 10 per month for the EE phone contract with the free 3 months then if I want to continue with the BT sport it will be an extra 10 a month.

Just thought I would try and help some of you out smiling smiley

Cheers!

As a ST Holder are we mean't to get a BT match pass to watch home games?

If so, anybody had theirs?

both Brighton and Watford fans had to enter the number on their Season Ticket to access the footy free

There is some new information posted on the Fish with details of the BT Match Pass situation.

Two points: 1) Seems to be leaving it very late in the day. 2) Seems overly complicated way of doing it.

I suggest you read it now and don't leave it until the last minute if you will be relying on this to watch the match. In case you're wondering, It gives you access to the BT Sport App on iOS, Android, Windows 10, Chromecast, Samsung Smart TV, Xbox One, Apple TV, Sony PlayStation 4 and NOW TV boxes. You can also watch online at bt.com/sport/watch.

You cannot watch it directly on BT Sports via Sky.

Don't see another way of doing it so that you can't just hand over your login to a random person, has to be complicated for that reason.

However, you can do just that.
