...................... at midday on Saturday!

I hope this departure from the normal Friday team announcement isn't anything to do with the news from Racing 92.
I suspect it's so that we can leave the covid-19 tests until as close to the match as possible?

Suspect it's more to do with this:
Big breaking news: Premiership’s grandstand finale thrown into doubt after Sale return a significant number of positive COVID tests. Match could now be forfeited. PRL scrambling to find a solution.

Apologies - what is the news from R92?

My wife has told me that she's considering ending our marriage due to my utter obsession with rugby.

Re: Sup for Barf

Looking at the players missing Mako, Rhodes (missing his 100th cap) Barritt, Goode, Taylor is this injury or virus? If its the later should this game be taking place?

Hope they're all ok and that those chosen have a good game. Bath look full strength so this will be a very tough game.

Are Reffell and Pfelleti injured ? Guess Callum Clarke is on compassionate leave.
A pity Brad doesn’t get a farewell run out, but not really the same with no fans anyway.

So who is covering 10? Given that a good few of these played Wednesday it is going to be tough come the last 20 minutes or so

That would be Juan Pablo Socino I assume. He's played at F/H for Falcons previously.

Re: Sup for Barf

It's a bit of a grim afternoon for rugby here in Barnet, but at least the match is not being played at the Rec where I'm fairly sure it would have been another bog snorkelling contest.

Unbelievable. A ref will rarely be presented with an easier decision than that. Gobsmacked.

Re: Sup for Barf
Rolls 04 October, 2020 14:51
We’ve had 3 5m line outs in their half for 0 points, they’ve taken their 2 chances. We’ve got to look a LOT sharper in next 40 minutes.

Re: Sup for Barf
Heaf 04 October, 2020 14:55
As a neutral I think Bath are getting away with way too many cynical pens - should have someone in the bin ages ago.

Re: Sup for Barf
OldMarovian 04 October, 2020 14:56
I hope Morris is ok. Big blow to lose him given how well he's been playing. Also Wray who looked like he took a head knock.
Front row doing well in the scrum. Other than that maul being defused and we look rather flat.

Barnes has spent all match warning Bath players not to do things; don't close the gap, don't play the lifter, don't change your bind etc and then stood by and watched as Bath immeaditaely do that to secure an advantage. I can also understand why the knock down wasn't a PT as there was cover but how is that not a yellow? no attempt what-so-ever to do anything but stop it. Also how is Ewels still on the field?

Bath are defending brilliantly, maul defence especially. Spencer is a live wire and Underhill exceptional, talismanic in denying us momentum.

Hopefully the team can get their heads back in the game. It's still there to be won but we need to be a bit sharper and take the points when on offer.

Re: Sup for Barf

Question is Will Barnes have forgotten the team warning as soon as the second half starts

Re: Sup for Barf
OldMarovian 04 October, 2020 15:04
Well judging by his performance so far he'll probably send off a Saracens player.

Re: Sup for Barf
Sara'sman 04 October, 2020 15:06
15 Goode Hooley
14 Williams
13 Taylor Lozowski
12 Barritt Tompkins
11
10 Farrell Mailins
9 Spencer

1 Vunipola Barrington Carre Adams-Hale Mawi
2 Singleton Gray
3 Lamositele Figallo
4 Skelton
5 Kruis
6 Rhodes Isiekwe Clark
7 Earl
8

Add the injuries to Morris and Wray to the above and I think there's a huge amount to be proud about re our team today.

Re: Sup for Barf

Ewels plays the arm again. Something he's been warned for twice and penalised once. He already has 4 penalties.

Re: Sup for Barf
maynas 04 October, 2020 15:14
Penaltly count looked massively in our favour, just amazed Barnes had kept his yellow card hidden all afternoon

Re: Sup for Barf
OldMarovian 04 October, 2020 15:17
Nice idea with the maul defence shame that the execution wasn't right.

Re: Sup for Barf

How can we be this bad....

Re: Sup for Barf
OldMarovian 04 October, 2020 15:21
Third scrum penalty for Stuart. Is there a warning or a card?
Does Barnes just own Dyson shares after this or the whole company?

Re: Sup for Barf
maynas 04 October, 2020 15:23
We are fast running out of players with all these injuries, good job this is last match!

Re: Sup for Barf
OldMarovian 04 October, 2020 15:25
Well done Wiggle. Absolute legend.

Re: Sup for Barf
OldMarovian 04 October, 2020 15:27
So close. That was legit great defence from Spencer.

Re: Sup for Barf
Sarriebone 04 October, 2020 15:33
PT, should have been a(nother) yellow

Re: Sup for Barf
OldMarovian 04 October, 2020 15:34
Not to belabour the point but the tackle on Billy and the PT means a Bath player as he could be identified should be in the bin. By my count Bath should have had minimum two and probably three yellows so far.

Gave him a huge round of applause at home. Such a pity we're not there for him to hear it. Really hope that one day all the guys we're losing can come back for a proper send off.

Re: Sup for Barf
Heaf 04 October, 2020 15:42
Correct - WB is having a shocker. Bath player just tackled the SH before he'd lifted the ball too but apparently that was fine. Plus the scrum from the restart after the try was a pen to Sarries but he resets and then gives Bath a FK.

Re: Sup for Barf
OldMarovian 04 October, 2020 15:43
So proud of the team on and off the pitch. We've got players in the wrong positions, those who have given their bodies to the cause and younsters stepping up.

Brilliant Saracens. Well done Maro and Manu.

I think he got that one right Heaf. Davies just lifted it so was fair game.

Re: Sup for Barf

That was a really nice snipe from Davies. Shame about the Maro roll.

Well done lads. A huge demonstration of sticking it out despite odds stacked against them all game.

Huge relief that Malins drop didn't cost Bristol the win. COYBristol for the semis.
