Despicable, whether its Celts on a train, or English bath fans in a stadium.

B4B - you gotta be kidding! Apologise? They wouldn't even realise that there was something to apologise for, let alone how to spell it!!!!!

Eddie is very rattled. A week after saying his side were 40% fitter than 2 years ago, he's saying:
“One thing I know is we can’t win playing pattern football. We don’t have the athletic ability to do it. I have them for 13 weeks a year. I can’t suddenly make them more athletic. All I can do is try to maximise the players we have. We’ve got good players but we don’t have the ability to be athletically better than other teams.”
"We don't have the athletic ability to do it (play like Scotland)"
Any clues as to what 'pattern' football is?

There is a video of some of it (or all of it - not sure) on Twitter. Search Dan Roan from the BBC.

So how come Scotland can do it? And if England are 40% fitter than they were two years ago, Lancaster must have been running fitness sessions in the chip shop.
It's not that England don't have the athletic ability, it's that Eddie has chosen to go the route of outright power. It will always win him the majority of matches, but it means they can't be 'bullet-proof'. It's been an English thing since the back-row of Richards/Teague/Skinner.

Quote:given this, and an unwillingness to use players from outside his core group of 35 or so... It's almost like he considers the 6N to be a stop orpn the route to somewhere else (and probably isn't allowed to say as such)sirtidychris
We are 40percent fitter but also 100percent more knackered in games from all the fitness training.

I hope some of you are right and that the poor performances of our clubs in Europe, and the showing of the national side, is just a temporary lull due to fatigue.

Cme Satutday England will have played one game in 4 weeks plus training. Genuine question, isn't that enough time to build up glycogen stores?
