What’s a calvulator? Is it some sort of culturally inappropriate clothing?

Indeed Matt, a calvulator is actually a Roman cloak of deception worn by an Exeter fan that enables the wearer to appear to be a Bath supporter. It also enables the wearer to talk freely with ex players about the ineptitude of their employers without disclosing the source!
