Ok, tried and much respected formula

8 tracks, a book and luxury item.

If very personal you choose whether to give back story

Everything accepted unless normal lines of decency exceeded and over to you moderators to police this one

All responses must be respectful and non judgemental

This could stimulate some interaction and so any 'banter' must be mild by any standards

Think that's all bases covered so let the game begin ...

OK my choices:

Beethoven’s 6th

Handel’s Messiah
Faure Requiem (I sang in the chorus aged 18)
I’ll be your baby tonight. Bob Dylan

Behold I give you the morning Tom Paxton

Book - complete works if Rudyard Kipling ( not as stuffy, racist or imperialist as he is often painted - a great observer of human foibles. All human life is there.)

Luxury - a home brew kit.

They're coming! Absolutely love DiD, and my Spotify is littered with songs pilfered from the programme. Trying hard to love Lauren Laverne, but very much missing Kirsty.

I also have different lists for different strategies, so have to decide on which one to go for!

a/ songs I actually love
b/ music selections that make me look more sophisticated than I actually am
c/ songs that evoke specific memories/people

Tom Waits – Big Joe and Phantom 309 – one for the generation that knew how great hitch-hiking was
Bob Dylan – Things Have Changed – a reminder that Bob’s throwaway stuff (used to be) better than most artists’ top work (his recent shockers, notwithstanding)
Neil Young – Long May you Run – everyone is nostalgic for their first car, right? (Cortina MK1 since you ask)
Max Boyce - The Outside Half Factory – Welsh rugby in the 70s and Phil Bennett in particular is why I love rugby and it does actually make me laugh
The Clash – London Calling – London is always calling, for me

And then just a few bits of wondrously lovely music

Noir Desir – le Vent nous Portera (from Elif Shafak on DiD, really good episode, too)
The Handsome Brothers - Far from Any Road
Terry Reid – the Frame

Luxury – a football – a more flexible bit of sporting equipment than a rugby ball if you’re on your own - for hours of keepie-uppie

Book – Under Milk Wood - chance to learn a few of the lines off by heart

Claim to fame: playing pinball in arcade just off Leicester sq, wasting time before a Jam gig at the marquee and who should come and play the machine next to me. Yep the Modfather himself, Paul Weller in parka and full mod kit. And happened to be a pinball wizard as well. True story

Confinement, day 174: I thought my: 'got to be a twist' in response to Gaz's 'he was a pinball wizard' was a really very straightforward and obvious evocation of the lyrics to the Who song, Pinball Wizard. Gaz (appears) to have taken not just that literally, but doubled down at 13:54. I feel like i'm a small, spherical object being pinged around a brightly-lit table by flipping madmen!
