The Wednesday Team Prediction(early)
Faithful_City 02 January, 2018 13:46
As the game is on Friday I thought I would start off the debate early

15. Pennell
14. Heem
13. Willison
12. Mills
11. Adams

10. Olver
09. Hougaard

01. Waller
02. Singleton
03. Milanisavic(Schonert)
04. O'Callaghan
05. Spencer
06. Denton
07. Lewis
08. Van Veltz

16. Haunt
17. Bower
18. Schonert(Milanisavic
19. Bresler/Barry
20. Fao'siliva
21. Dowsett
22. Shillcock
23. Hammond

Once again it could be one of our most powerful teams.

Not sure thereís much to debate really.

I'd like shilcock to start and Baldwin on the bench.

If schonert isn't fit put Alo on the bench for me.

Cox is back so could make the bench, probably won't though for consistency.

Shillcock v Olver is the big one. Neither are big tacklers, both decent off the boot. I think the main point of difference is Olver has more of a passing game and Shilly more running. Depends what the tactics are. Think the coaches will pick Olver.

Schonert and Spencer would start if fit, but it's unlikely.

Taufete'e may be back from the USA, replaces Haupt for me. Maybe Biyi Alo on the bench too for impact.

If Spencer is fit would have Bresler on bench, but if not would have Bresler starting with Phillips on bench rather than Barry.
Is Alo out of favour or had he been injuried? He is a great impact player off bench.

Out of favour it seems. Played on Sunday and has featured in A games previously.

I thought Nick was out for a while, although perhaps not as long as some originally thought. Gareth has done a decent job in his absence. Is Alo a loose or tight head? I'm an ex-back and have to look at shirt numbers as I can never remember who is what. Can't some of them play both? Or do they just say that when their agent is around?

6 weeks for Nick. Teo back in January.

Just in time for the 6 Nations

Olver has had a couple of decent games. If Jamie stays fit could be fun seeing them battle it out for the rest of the season. My money is heavily on the latter.

We all have an emotional attachment to Shillcock because of his time as bench replacement scrum-half for the promotion semi-final and final in 2015. Remember the cheer when he came on aged 17 for the last five minutes of the home semi?

Having said that, Olver has improved out of all recognition and we are in a good position having the two of them.

I think Barry will get sidelined for Bressler which won't go down well in the Barry camp. And is there any reason not to start with Shillcock?

I'm afraid my running commentary/sketchy match reports from Warriors London Sevens victory back in may is the summation of my talents!
