TWItter commentary courtesy of Rodri McAtee. 36-0 win for the Pirates, 12-0 half time. Sound like a good workout. Fair play to the Reds for committing to a full 80 minute game. Hope there was a decent crowd.

Pretty good crowd. Good run out for both teams. Reds played well and defended bravely. The Reds scrum was good and they even got a couple of scrum penalties in the second half - Paves won't be happy! Lineout was iffy first half but improved a lot when Beukeboom came on. Backs looked very sharp and defence was solid. Plenty to work on, but we saw glimpses of what is possible when the boys really hit their straps.

Decent run out in front of a good crowd considering the fantastic weather, the England games on TV and the pressures of a bank holiday. Both sides gave the crowd a good game to watch in the heat and despite many changes from both sides at regular intervals. As already said the line-out continued to be an issue in the first half but improved after half time. We have some big units in the pack and one or two were surprisingly mobile!! The backs as always seemed sharp and when given the chance will throw the ball about at pace and cause errors and panic in quite a few teams this season. Handling was good so all in all a promising start and a squad that will get better and better. Roll on the start of the season proper.

Wasn't there , but stalwart's comments chime. Ever since he signed, the line out works better when Beukaboom is on the field. it does not matter who is throwing in or who else is playing, it just works better with him there.
What was the story with Camborne?
