Doncaster v Pirates

The same 23 from last week make the trip to Doncaster. There is one change to the starting XV with Prop Marlen Walker starting in place of Jack Andrew who goes to the bench.

Really could not see any changes after the excellent showing against Ealing. Those not playing have to work hard to break into the match day squad and they like I would not expect it to be any other way. Best wishes lads bring the W home.

As you say Chenoweth - no reason to change things after last week. Some very strong players on the bench, and some very good players not in the 23. Away trips never easy, but we have a good record at Castle Park, so here's hoping for a "W".

Strong team and hopefully keep the wins at Donny. Early start for World cup also so a busy day.

Donny 25 Pirates 44.

If you haven't got a ticket for the Falcons game get in quick. Surely after two cracking results we can fill the Mennaye next week. At least to the Elf and safety limits anyway.

Very good result at Donny although I think we fell out of favour with the man in the middle for a while. From here in Cornwall not going to comment on that as he may well have been right. Well done all see you next week.

Terrific win on the road at Doncaster and a real plus to pick up the bonus point as well. Although we had a shaky spell in the 2nd half when we had 2 yellow cards and we started to concede a number of penalties, we held our nerve and regrouped to finish strongly.
No doubt plenty to work on but a great boost ahead of next weeks clash against Newcastle.
Lets get a big crowd down at the Mennaye, the players deserve our support.

What a pleasure to visit Castle Park. Lovely, friendly people who looked after us brilliantly with parking and finding us easily accessible seats. It was a very entertaining match which got pretty tight early in the second half when Donny came back strongly. But we regrouped, got some fresh legs off the bench and gradually began to dominate to finish the game strongly and run in a couple of late tries. This is one area we are stronger than last season - when we bring on the replacements there is no dip in performance and we are able to finish games as strongly as we started.
I thought Callum Patterson was brilliant, making so many tackles and looking dangerous in attack - finished with a lovely try at the end where he ran a brilliant line to score under the posts.
Nic DeBatista took a huge tackle and had a nasty looking hand/wrist injury and poor old Tom Cowan- Dickie had to be replaced in the first half and was wearing a protective boot after the game. Hope they're both OK.
Donny look a pretty good team and will turn over a few sides this season.
We can go into the big game next week with a lot of confidence - it should be a cracking day.

Totally agree Stalwart. Chicken curry and chips were really good. Callum Patterson was outstanding, our Motm imo. Spoke to Tom after the game, he seems to think his injury isn't too bad and could be back in a few weeks (we'll wait and see). Really looking forward to next week. Newcastle haven't had an outstanding start to the season, seemed to struggle a bit against Scotish last week. However hsd a good win on Fri v Hartpury. If we play well we could I think beat them onthe bew surface at the Mennaye. Next Sunday can't come soon enough for me.

Just looked through the tries from Donny game and noticed that we allowed their scrum half to run through a gap almost identical to how Burns from Ealing did need to stop those holes as once through very difficult to avoid tries being scored. Listened on the radio and felt we were never quite at our best however certainly not complaining as that is a tremendous result. Lovely pass from Rhodri to put Callum in at the end. Hope the injuries are not to serious anyone heard ?
