Nottingham v Pirates

Selected in the Cornish Pirates starting XV to make their first Greene King IPA Championship appearances of the season are centre Rory Parata and scrum-half Jean-Baptist Bruzulier, whilst overall the side shows several changes from the team that faced Newcastle Falcons on Sunday, including quick returns from injury for hooker Tom Cowan-Dickie and flanker Will Wilson.
As we picked up a few more injuries in Sundays game and we still have a few players recovering from off season operations its probably limited the number of changes we would have considered making. Its going to be a tough game with a 4 day turn around against a Nottingham side who will be out for revenge after the defeat in the cup.

Strong looking match squad and we need to get back to winning again.
Not that Nottingham can be taken for granted they will be up for it. Drafted in players from Leicester so we will need to be on our game. Hopefully we can stay on the right side of the man in the middle or at least adapt to him quickly.

Very short turnaround and not a good weather forecast for tomorrow evening but some interesting selections. Javier at 10 looks a good option and JBB at scrum half offers plenty of options. Great to see TCD and Will Wilson back so quickly after injury.
We’re perfectly capable of another away win at Notts. Can’t make the trip but looking forward to hearing progress.

Nottingham 14 Pirates 23
Great defence in the final minutes by the boys when they were down to 14 men after a yellow card to Brett Beukeboom gave us a deserved win and 4pts on the road.

After a short week and following Newcastle match really good result.
Difficult to get yourself back up so quickly so saying that well done to all. 4 points away from home always a good result and its that consistency that we are after.

It was a brilliant try to be fair.

A well executed try from a pre-planned move based no doubt on previous research done on the Pirates defence.
Even at Championship level there is a huge amount of analysis done on each opponent.

True, P15. I've noticed myself that we often seem to get very narrow in defence on occasions. It would be interesting to get Paves' perspective on that.

Stalwart.
Not sure Pave's is the coach you want. Think Morg's is the defence guy however if you use a drift defence you will start narrow..
