RFU SUSPENDS ALL RUGBY
Following government advice, the RFU will suspend all rugby activity in England, at both professional and community level. RFU Rugby activity includes club training, league and cup matches plus rugby education courses from 17 March until 14 April subject to continued review. The decision has been taken following government advice in the interests of players, coaches, referees, volunteers, supporters and the wider rugby union community. Where possible, players at all levels are encouraged to maintain their own personal fitness and keep active during this time, while following government guidelines about safe distance and safe exercise environments. The RFU will continue to review and monitor government advice and will provide detailed updates on the impact to the season in the coming weeks.
Sadly for the best it needs to be done to keep people safe. Hopefully it wont be for a prolonged period.
Forwards win games, backs decide by how much Come on Albion!!!!
Sadly it had to happen.
If it gets extended could it mean that the season becomes null and void for promotion and relegation purposes?
season is over till next season for rugby levels barr the premiership.
Probably the only decision that could have been made sadly but it doesnt make it any easier for the clubs including Albion that are going to be affected hard by this. Forwards win games, backs decide by how much Come on Albion!!!!
Worse still - RFU says "That's yer lot!":
englandrugby.com MAYBE Taunton are promoted on the basis of 25 games and Roth stay up as no 2nd play-offs for Nat 2N/S...? Come cheer up, my lads - 'tis to glory we steer!
Sad, but not unexpected. Ways must be found of supporting clubs so that this is not catastrophic for them, especially clubs like Albion who have also lost the revenue from the events/hospitality side of things. I was really looking forward to beating Richmond on the 28th! Sad also that we cannot give James Scaysbrook a round of applause at the last home game. Here's to next season!

If you want a bit more detail or got time to read some of the discussion, rolling-maul seems to have it in an accessible format. All the interesting/(currently) relevant discussion seems to be on Clubhouse Chat or Champ boards.
The third relegation/promotion place seems to be unconfirmed at as 14.00 today (03 Apr) with something due to come within 4 hours. (Possibly, Tonbridge Juddians (2S second) up on basis of more league points than Fylde (2N second) - 98 v 90. That implies Rotherham down.) Seems pointless to duplicate it all here unless relevant parties have specifics for Nat 1... This process appears not to be flawless, but based on common sense and easy maths. Underlying RFU philosophy apparently i)we have rules in place for this kind of eventuality (whereas other home nation Unions don't, and ii)our ball, our decision... Subjectively, happy to see Taunton come up; Fylde v TJs is much of a muchness - but still a pain in the proverbial. Come cheer up, my lads - 'tis to glory we steer!
