Good to see so many young players doing so well. Thought the front row did really well first half but I thought we should have changed them earlier in the second half! Thought Kisten and McRae stood out!

As did Josh caulfield.
Whilst I'm here....
Didn't like the drab singing pre match and halftime. Ok, nice voice but hardly rousing
Something more sing a long and less operatic please.

I agree.... Nice to see so many youngsters getting a chance to show what they can offer. There's a lot of talented youngsters waiting to prove thier worth.
Two very nice trys off the back of a line out.... But I thought Bath were always in the game and a threat which proved to be the case in the second half.
Personally I thought Jannes should have got mom as he was very effective and made some good hits..... Good to see Woodburn back.....not a great game in truth but a wins a win

I drink and forget stuff!

For a rough and ready lineup that was perfectly good, two of the new guys catching Bath with their pants down in the first half was very nice to see and the defence early on was bulletproof.

Bath came back in the second half but WBP still secured. No complaints whatsoever! smiling smiley

Twas only the PRC with both clubs sporting basically 'A' sides, but for the first game of the season decent performances that was not so error strewn as the Quins v Bears.
Some nice set moves by The Chiefs and I agree with Lowerwatha that at this level both MacRae and Kirsten looked useful.
MacRae has always had potential, and now that his University commitments are finished he has the chance to break through. However the first back row division is quite strong and apparently all in good health.
Kirsten though may have a bigger opportunity with so many injuries in the second row. Today he did a lot of carrying, a lot of tackling and for a first game showed a good engine (he was the supporting player for the big break very late in the game).
It will be interesting to see, come the end of the season, who if any of the ex-academy playing today make it into the first team squad.

Echo the above, Kirsten was MOM for me. But all the tight 5 including Stan South had good games. Tom Hendrickson also ran hard and looked dangerous. The opera singing didnít do it for me either. Nor did the new half time entertainment. But hey-ho, each to their own.
On a separate note was lovely to see Steve Ojomoh there supporting his son. Looking happy and said he was well. Another true gent.

Nothing really to add to the above. Jannes has a sparkling debut and really put it about. Fair play to Bath they came to play and gave it a good go.
Otter challenge was a bit bizzare!
