I read about this the other day.
It was mentioned that there had been instances of the post protector bring lifted up to prevent a try which has been seen as dangerous.

Given the size of the post protectors now it has made this particular law ridiculous, it effectively means you could score a try nye on a foot from the try line!

I'd have thought of more concern for Chiefs supporters is that mauling might be banned until the end of social distancing! winking smiley

To be honest I am actually surprised that Chiefs didn't use this rule at all as part of their power game in the red zone and I can't think of one occasion where they actually did this.

Its a shame as I often used to say that they should do this as placing the ball against the bottom of the post is harder to defend due to the post being in the way of defenders who are supposed to be behind the line.

Only try I can think of scored this way is Thomas Waldroms base of the post effort away at Sarries May 2015
