The club have reached an agreement with players and club staff regarding amended terms to their contracts. Looks like the current playing squad will be together for the next three to four years.

But see the article in the Times today where John Westerby says 7 clubs are hurriedly signing players on long term contracts to avoid the salary cap cut as anyone on an old contract only 75% of salary is included in new salary cap! That is Chiefs,Quins, Sharks, Saints, Bath, Bristol and yes you guessed Sarries!

Sale reportedly taking pay cuts - any club extending contracts at the old level better hope rugby starts ASAP and doesn't stop for a protracted time again - this could easily happen this winter. All future is guesswork apart from the coming recession.

Will be interesting to see what they do for the almost a third of their squad whose Kolpak exemption ends when we leave the EU.
