I used to go regularly until they brought in the insane 2 ticket limit, haven't been since. I have never had a problem, but then I have been wearing a kilt.

Sadly, my own experience suggests otherwise - I bought tickets for Scotland v Australia about 2 years ago for myself and my wife. For the entire game we (not personally as we Ďkept our heads downí) experienced non stop abuse directed toward the English - who werenít even playing. We dared not talk above a whisper for fear of retribution. Same on the tram back into Edinburgh. Scots were beaten by the Aussies...who got the abuse -
the English. Never, ever, ever again for us, not just rugby but Scotland generally. Have your referendum and go your own way - if that will take the heat out of the Scots vitriol toward the English then even Iíd vote for it! Itís gone way way beyond the friendly rivalry Iíve actually enjoyed in Cardiff and Ireland.

I echo those sentiments from an experience that I suffered. I used to go to Scotland two, sometimes three times in the winter for a " leg stretcher" before my annual skiing trip to the Alps. On one occasion I was in the usual B&B pub that I stayed in in the Glenshee region, when they had a group entertaining. The leader asked " any English in" In my innocence (that should read ignorance) I put up my hand. I was then subjected to a tirade of anti English abuse for about 15/20 minutes before the owner, a man call Hector, cut off the electric supply to the group, had a word and came and touched my shoulder. Nothing happened for about 10 minutes or so and it all started again and once more the power was killed. Hector spoke to the group again and came over to me and plonked down a huge whisky. There were no more incidents but the leader swore at me as they left. I have never been back again to Scotland and never will; shame because I was spending money there and there as at least one very decent Scotsman by the name of Hector.

We got to Murrayfield & Edinburgh regularly and we've never experienced any anti-English sentiment at all on any trip

Same here.

To be fair Iíve lived up here 30 + years and I havenít experienced anything untoward other than my first ever night out as a raw 19 year old student being blamed for stealing North Sea oil and personally losing at Bannockburn! I do still get taken aback at the obsession with being better than England, whether it is in a sporting, economic or social sense however.

Unfortunately, sporting events can attract some right royal buffoons who really arenít representative of the vast majority of society, and maybe some of those were at Murrayfield.
