Saturday evening kick off?

From another thread, some people liking Saturdays but others not, have we ever tried a Saturday evening kick off? I know we did for the Big One, about 5.30pm if I remember right, which was chosen to allow people to get to the game after club rugby.

I was thinking that 6pm on a Saturday might suit a lot of people, late enough to not interfere with whatever needs doing in the afternoon, early enough to allow kids to get to games, and then for those who want to make a night of it, a decent time to start a night out too. It is also feasible for visiting supporters who might like to make a weekend of a trip to KP.

Any thoughts?

If it was 5.30 I may consider it, but I am one of the many who do not live anywhere near a Metro line and getting back late does not suit me any longer. Many of us passed our 40's and 50's a very long time ago.(Sm58)

The Big One on March 28 is a Saturday at 5.30pm.

I personally like a good mixture of Fri night, Sat and Sun fixtures.
Sat either 3pm or 5:30pm would be fine by me. Also those times are suitable for children whereas I try to get childcare for a Fri night as 8pm is too late but a good time for socialising away from the children
Sunday good old 3pm family kick off and possible a pre match Sunday roast

Tricky one with football clashes and kocal clubs , early evening ko makes it tight for people to do both and later ko probably makes it late for those with junior rugby, weve had some very early starrs recently.

Id hazard a guess more folk work Saturdays than friday nights or Sundays too.

Saturday anytime after 4pm would be ok by me. Saturday 3pm is very difficult for me as I have too many personal commitments to family.

We had a 6pm kick-off on a Saturday night. Against Cardiff in the AW Cup if I remember correctly.

In my opinion it should be done more during the Autumn International and 6 Nations.

Saturday evenings would be tricky for me to bring my daughter as she’s a bit too wee to be up that late.

That may be considered a good thing by those who sit near her, however! She shouts loud and often and tends to shout whatever pops into her head. I did enjoy it on sundays game when she shouted ‘I want Newcastle falcons to win’ and a lone voice replied ‘me too’.

It's good to have a mix, I used to like Saturdays because living away, I didn't have to take a half-day on a Friday, and didn't have to drive back west after a Sunday game. However, now that I often work Saturdays, but not Sundays because Mrs L does, I prefer Sundays. It's all down to a person's own circumstances and the club will never please everyone.

Yeah there’s no solution that’ll work for everyone. As long as there’s a decent spread so most people can make a few games it should be reet.

I will be asking them to stop having home games when I’m on holidays.

I agree with Leipy. For me Saturdays are the worst day to play on for me to get to games.
