2019/20 season

Iíve been told that a few changes are going to happen off the pitch on match day next season. The fan village in the arena room is gone with what can be fitted in the stadium concourse. Cost cutting. A lot of the community coaches who run the interactive games have been let go. Cost cutting. A small profit ( less than £1 million ) will show in the accounts but that takes into a chunk of the CVC money already paid. There is more to follow but itís not going to last long. The business model as was is being refined with its that draining income being shelved including some conference and exhibition income streams. Hope this off field stuff is glossed over by an improved season on the pitch.

That really useful to hear - thanks.

We got spoilt after the move and we really do need to get the business side of things humming to guarantee and sustainably being able to field a team capable of competing for top 4.

Noted in Dai's last interview that the objective is to consistently make top 6.
Not too 4 or win the Premiership which is likely beyond us even with Derek and PE money helping out

Good friend works at the arena and has overview of rugby and non rugby side. Though nothing officially confirmed he told me that it's been rubber stamped. Defo no SBT in this. Smiler

With today's announcement of an Octoberfest type thing for the Irish match in the "Fanzone" the rumour is seen to be incorrect (to be polite).

I'm rather taken with the Sugar Board of Tanzania.

I had read the post fro wasps and it looks like they are outsourcing it to Bierkeller Schunklers rather than doing the fan zone themselves. I wondering if are renting the space to this company. I wouldnít be surprised as itís common practice. It will be interesting to see what happens. After reading the post from smiler it looks like they are downsizing rather than stopping it. If you look the attendance is down year on year so it would make sense

On the whole the performance on the pitch drives attendances (unless youíre Saracens).

I imagine for the big games like the x mas clash, Leicester Northampton and Bath the indoor area will be utilised, otherwise seems sensible to save money where it can be saved. This club canít keep running at a huge loss.

Most touring Oktoberfest type things are outside in tents. From a very distant memory this reflects the Bavarian actual versions.
