Hangover 11 September, 2019 14:14
Going for both days - that is a pretty pacy looking squad.

Wasps 7s team

1 Will Porter (VC)
2 Gabriel Oghre
3 Sunni Jardine
4 Tim Cardall
5 Thibaud Flament
6 Ross Neal
7 Will Wilson (C)
8 Paolo Odogwu
9 Ben Vellacott (VC)
10 Jacob Umaga
11 Callum Sirker
12 Zach Kibirige

Real pace but wonít 4 forwards and 8 backs be a bit of a gamble?

Unless Ross Neal is going to double up?

It should be a cracker.

Steve, not really. Not uncommon for teams to fill the squads with bigger backs to act as forwards in 7s. It all about pace around the park.

Looking forward to seeing the French lad in action.

Well that was awesome! speed, precision, handling, kicking, running lines! A lot of that would not of looked out of place at HQ for the England Sevens! What a start lads!!

Born in France. Played in Argentina as well.

Interestingly, of the 12 players in the 7s squad, nine of them played in the A team game against Sale last April :

Wasps A: 15 Cameron Anderson; 14 Tom Bacon (Wasps Under 18s), 13 Ross Neal, 12 Michael Le Bourgeois, 11 Callum Sirker; 10 Jacob Umaga, 9 Will Porter (c); 1 Ben Harris, 2 Antonio Harris, 3 Biyi Alo, 4 Tim Cardall, 5 Josh Fenner, 6 Kieran Curran, 7 James Seabrook, 8 Alex Rieder. Replacements: 16 Gabriel Oghre, 17 Ben Onyeama-Christie, 18 David Langley, 19 Thibaut Flament (Loughborough Students - guest), 20 Will Wilson, 21 Henry Clement, 22 Sunni Jardine, 23 Taju Atta

A lot of his work went unnoticed again but I thought Cardall was an unsung hero like last year. Every time I see him he gets better. Was fantastic in the A League games last season. Personally I think we are light at lock but I really hope this lad gets an opportunity. Very much in the Isiekwe/Skinner mould of athletic lock and looks a bit different to the locks we currently have.

Into the semi-final then. Beat Tigers 26 to 20. Not sure who will be playing though. My BT on the mobile is playing up.
