Statement from their PM today. L1/L2 foot finished for this season. Who knows waht the rugby authorities will do.

ERC saying this season's finals in October - just ain't gonna work like that IMHO.

Sadly I have become more pessimistic about the prospects of the-starting both football and rugby this season. I just donít see how we can have contact sports whilst the virus is still a considerable concern and we are all practising social distancing. The infection rate will have to be much lower and testing much more readily available and even then you cannot exclude all risk. Players would probably have to sign up for that risk to avoid potential litigation.

Furthermore there arenít too many scientists that donít consider that Covid will be with us way beyond any possible start dates for a new season- and itís likely to be more prevalent as we head towards the winter period again, That in itself raises a number of questions regarding the resumption of full contact sport until such a time as a vaccine in found.
