Good article here with club-by-club financial losses: RugbyPass article on Premiership Losses pre-CVC

No wonder Mick C. has openly stated he can't keep dipping-into his pockets at that rate..

Looks like Wuss have been massively overpaying a bunch of journeymen.

And Tigers fall from grace looks like it’s directly the opposite.

Sale’s figures look odd - their spectator numbers are v poor and their wage bill must be one of the highest?

There is very little link between spectator numbers and salary paid though.

I think that's the main point. The pay of players doesnt reflect the size and profitability of the market place (granted sports is different to business) but if you look in business Sales / CEO are paid large amounts based on targets of much larger amounts than they are paid.

Can we guarantee Adam Colman will bring (allegedly) 900k in income to the club or Obrien (allegedly) 350k extra a season to the club? Probably not.

But on the flip side winning brings in money (exeter) creates better viewing and promotes the team so more people attend games... so do you pay great players loads in the Hope's that you'll win and attract enough spectators to cover their costs or generate profit?
