Real shame, he's a player that I felt played well for us consistently despite often being behind others. He also showed up well as captain in cup games and was the kind of squad player you can build around.

Hopefully the reasons for his retirement won't have an impact on his life beyond rugby and he has a good career path going forward.

It's always a real shame when a career is cut short through injury. Conor was a real asset to the squad, always putting the club first, rather than his own personal glory. He always bled green. Players like him are the backbone of any successful club and he will be missed. I'm sure he leaves with the best wishes of all of us and good luck for a successful future.(Sm63)
