Just something I was thinking about the other day. Now (ie 2018!) that Gloucester have taken to calling themselves Gloucester Lions - I bet that goes down well in The Shed - it means that the Premiership now has Lions and Tigers and Bears. Oh My!
Sadly I don't think we can go any further with the Oz analogy, although whoever is CEO of the RFU at any time might be compared to The Great Oz, though this might be a bit harsh on the latter.

Leicester tinmen
Sale scarecrows
Exeter munchkins....

I'm sure an opposition fan could come up with a choice option for Northampton too!

I always thought they should be the Gloucester Tractors!

Are they the Lions though? They announced the new logo 18 months ago, and there was a lot of talk about the name - but they were emphatic that they were not re-naming to Gloucester Lions - they were staying as Gloucester Rugby.

I recall a discussion on Test Match Special several years ago discussing names for the county one day sides - suggesting it should be the Yorkshire Puddings and the Lancashire Hotpots, and probably the Worcestershire Sauces.

to me, it felt like Jim and Dorian were on their own little trip to Oz, in search of a brain, heart & courage.
