Second tier ref, belting rain all day and a swamp for a pitch

Not really looking forward to this one

Indeed a Tempest in more ways than one, lets hope we can overcome the shower.

Forecast for them is dry-ish today but rain tomorrow from about 9am, then showers and sunny intervals mid afternoon for the match. Not the best conditions and not the worst. However with Furbank Taylor and Grayson our kicking game is quite good these days.

Heavy pitch is always a bit of a lottery. I guess we will pick a relatively heavy unit for tomorrow, Coles at 6

I think Tempest is getting better. He is still miles off being a top ref but he seems to be growing into the role.

Lets not make it close enough to worry. Stay clean, play well.

Gibson is the same weight as Coles and Woody is heavier.

Think we have had Mr Tempest at least twice before as Ref and once as an assistant, he should know the way Saints play and that we dont cheat and that The Saintly followers know the game so well that any advice that is given should automatically be taken.(Sm128)

Really not a fan of Tempest, he is the new "anti rugby". But we did manage the win at Sarries with him in charge

Stay clean, play well.

Having watched a Pilkington Cup match in the rain there years ago, there's no chance of "staying clean"! Avoiding penalties is one thing, but rolling in inches of mud is quite another.

I find it very hard to understand why they don't sort out the drainage. The pitch is dreadful.
I do know the area, got married a stones throw away, so I realise the avon is sort of ten foot below the pitch, but I'm sure it could be drained more effectively.
