Agree completely and discipline / decision making from our leaders. When the referee warns you it's going to be a yellow next time walk backwards rather than collapse the scrum. With 14 men on the pitch against 14 I think we could easily have scored twice.

Particularly frustrating second half as although Bath are very strong and physical beyond that we are a much better team.

Bath seemed intent on playing as little rugby as possible in that 2nd half and Tempest seemed lost as to what was happening.

So much time was wasted by Bath. 1st half was enjoyable. I think maybe 5 minutes of rugby was played in the second.

Oh, and that infernal music and shouty man!

We need to work on converting our play when 5 m out. At least three times we failed to score in that situation. We canít miss out on those chances. Some poor handling to be expected maybe in the conditions but some was carrying the ball in the wrong hand.
Will need to convert chances next week if we are going to beat Leinster

Yep. Frustrating as must have known would be a scrum fest in carp conditions as it always is down there. Ah well, still a good start to the season, lyon be a real test next week with how they have started

You just lost to the team that started the afternoon in 12th place, that had a man red carded, missing half their backline, and didn't even manage a losing bonus point.

Much better.

Ballsout you are a tedious wind up merchant. Spend most of your time telling Bath fans that all is lost and claiming to have have the keys to the kingdom and then play silly b$%gers on the oppo website. Go and have a serious word with yourself you pr%t.

The reffing around the scrum was pretty atrocious. No way near as clear cut as Tempest implied, but we got the rub of the green in other areas.

Always thought that the scrum was supposed to be a contest? In any contest you have a winner or a loser or a draw?

I donít get (and never have understood) why props are yellow carded for being bettered at scrum time.

When we played Munster in the Euro quarters we beasted them in the scrum 3 or 4 times consecutively 5 metres out and got a penalty try; no yellow card from Poite, just an understanding that our scrum was better than theirs. Refreshingly sensible. The scrum should not be a weapon for getting players sent off.

Refereeing in most sports is partly subjective when decisions are made, dependent on the referee's mindset. Although this should be ironed out in referee training there are undoubted some officials who are, sub-consciously or not looking for reasons to penalise rather than allowing play to progress with minimal interference. Of course there is always a balance to be struck but in the end this is a game, played and watched for enjoyment and the old maxim in football that you never notice the best referees is the one that should apply (IMO).

Found out at scrumtime as many suggested might happen. We struggle without Van Vyk. I want to rate him but not been impressed with Franks this season. Lots of missed/high tackles and a weakness at the scrum. He's leaked pens

We had 13 men for 10 minutes and 14 men for another 10. When we get to play Bath on a proper pitch at FG, lets see how we go.

Good luck this season, please do feel free to support us in the playoffs, we will have 14 first team players back by then.

I will be pulling for you in your relegation battle.

That's what happens when you field useless players like Paul Hill and Ben Franks.

smiling smiley and after that game we are none the wiser about your backs!

Thankfully we've got Watson, Joseph, McConnochie and Cokanasiga to come back in, plus Louw, Underhill and Faletau up front.

Apologies from all Bath fans for ballsout. He spends as much time trolling on other boards as he does on the Bath board.

Interestingly, he hasn't posted anything since the win on his own board. Bit of a sad sack, I'm afraid.

Good luck with the rest of the season, your back line was playing some good stuff, despite the limited platform up front. Just a few errors and some wholehearted Bath defence prevented further tries.

The solace I take from this defeat is that we have signed a double world cup winning prop and we have an international fly half returning from the world cup. It looks like these issues can be addressed.
