Dowson

Could be a long break for Ribbans who seems to be worryingly injury prone

Ribbans' injury didn't look good on the replay - ankle ligaments presumably.

Interesting about Alex Mitch. If he is not ready for next week he will have another month from now before the next game so hope there is a Wandies game to get some match time practice?

Not very keen on these injury prone comments myself. Nowhere is there any mention of the degree of seriousness of the injury either as it hadnt been scanned at the time of writing.

The only logic is that Ribeye sprained his ankle last year. I sprained my ankle 4 times playing sport, needs loads of physio to rebalance and strengthen or it keeps happening.

but, you know, 19 stone blokes running into each other will lead to injuries !

Ankles are notorious for reoccurring - hope for David's sake he gets the opportunity to do the rehab and restrengthen as much as possible. But it's a contact sport - you can't avoid things like this, unfortunately.

More worrying for me is Piers going through the concussion protocols again. They are starting to rack up for the lad. Hope we give him all the time he needs (same goes for proctor)

Although I'm sure there will be more pressure to get the 'cup final' team on the field towards the end of the season Boyd does seem keen on rest and rotation and trust in the squad. Hopefully we will do what Wasps used to do in their winning years and get everyone fit and firing for the last few games of the season and render the poor performances earlier in the season completely forgotten!

I am also slightly concerned for Piers and his concussions, he's not the biggest for a 12 but doesn't shirk the physical stuff. Many more head knocks and he'll have a very difficult decision to start making. I don't want to be disrespectful in terms of speculating but I think that Dylan's retirement may have had as much to do with that side of things as the grumbly knee. I think most players accept that their bodies are going to be held together mainly by tape towards the end of their career but head injuries are an entirely different kettle of fish. Reading the interview with Furbs someone kindly posted elsewhere on here it seems like Boyd was in absolutely no hurry to push him back following his concussion and involved his parents in the discussion given his relatively young age.

Apart from being a top DoR, Boyd's actions and not just his words, suggest him to be a thoroughly decent human being.
